before he was famous peter andre did some gigs in schools. cos i was a prefect i acted as a 'bouncer' during his lunchtime gig and he brushed against me as he walked past on the way out. that meant a lot. i still get a woodie to this day.

"ooooohhhhhhhho ooooooooohhhhhhhhh ooooooooohhhhhhhhh mysterious cofe i want to brush against youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu". damn straight peter. damn muthafucking straight.

I gave Johnny Marr a light in the Hacienda, I didn't have a clue who he was (I don't think he knew who I was either).

I spent the whole of the Stone Roses' set at Spike Island stood next to Ian McCulloch - I didn't recognise him either, despite the fact he was in full Ian McCulloch mode (long overcoat, huge barnet of hair etc.).

Sometime in the 90s I saw firehose in Leeds (one of the best gigs I've ever been to in fact). The next morning I was sat in a car on a petrol forecourt in Stoke when George Hurley (drummer of firehose and hardcore legends The Minute Men) walked by. I gave him a shout and he came over and we had a nice chat.

Robert Plant brushed by me in a festival crowd a couple of years ago. I had to try hard not to do a really obvious double-take at that one.

 8)  so cool I flipping love fIREHOSE, the Minutemen, anything involving Mike Watt and his thunderbroom...

Seems like a lifetime ago but when I was younger I ended up  playing bass in a thrash metal band called Arbitrater.  Did tours with grind core legends Bolt Thrower and semi famous thrashers Xentrix..  Lurked round the Midlands 90s metal scene, Napalm Death, Cerebral Fix, Impaler etc...

Then lodged with a friend who roadies/tour manages.  Came home from work one day to find Amy Winehouse in the front room ( I had no idea who she was at the time Or what the  future held).  Very impressed to hear her voice that evening at the gig she was doing.  He gigged with Carter USM so Jim Bob and Fruit bat were visitors too..

Right then, between everyone of the forum we need to get ticks for the rest of the clan. Speak now if you've ever met any of the following: RZA, ODB, U-god, Raekwon, Inspectah Deck, Cappadonna or Masta Killer.

I met Cappadonna outside the Hope Street Hotel a few years back. He was sound! I posted a photo on the Hip Hop thread at the time but it is now lost to the web.

In other news, I once appeared delivering a session on a Panorama expose about Britain's Missing Dads. I was working with single mum's at the time, not a missing dad...

I've had cuddle with Jane Fonda.

It was 1973 and I was less than a year old at the time though.

I insulated Werner Herzog's attic while he was away in South America checking out possible locations for his film Fitzcarraldo. While we were working there, there was a knock on the back door. I opened it to find Klaus Kinski standing there. To my eternal shame, the only thing I could say was, "Fucking hell, it's Klaus Kinski!". To which he replied, "Yes, I know."

Agreed with Duma, that is deserving of top waddage.

I need more details, where was it? Was it during the time he lived in Moss Side??!! Did you meet the great man? And what else happened with Kinski????

Shame on you for leaving it so long to mention...

It wasn't that brilliant. Just a few general purpose polystyrene sheets and a bit of plasterboard. Bit of a lash-up, actually.
