He was great in Inglorius Basterds.

But yes it could be that thing like, I used to see Jude Law and Keira Knightly down the castle, (not together), but they aren't climbers. Stanage? etc

From the RIP thread, David Axlerod being a rock climber.

The inverse of non climbing claims to fame: notable people of the world who are also climbers.

Anyone know of any interesting ones?

Aside from the 'actor' Jason Momoa, and well regarded sci-fi novelist and Guardian contributor M John Harrison...

There must be loads...?

Me and Mike at Stanage last year... his first time on a rope for several years.  We had a great day...

I remember Sharlene Spiteri mentioning she climbs once in an interview, but can't find much reference on line though

Met legendary tour manager Sam Cutler (the Stones - including Altamont and the Hyde Park free concert - The Grateful Dead, and more) at a show in Philly last night. Total geezer, rock and roll legend, and, seemingly, really friendly bloke. We bought his book off him and he wrote a lovely dedication. They offered to keep it behind the desk until the end of show. We then went on to have a bit of a rock and roll evening ourselves and totally forgot to pick it up at the end of the evening. Bugger.

That was me Andy, got you hook, line and sinker  ;D

David Lee Roth

Thought it might be some new clips, but just footage from the Livin' in Paradise video

Aiding Separate Reality at the start?

Just bumped into Ian Brown in my local vegan co-op. I did a double take then just stared, he kindly just gave me a wry grin and kept on shopping.

A step up from the standard Badly Drawn Boy sighting......

Football related ones.

I bumped into Giggs and Ince in the Hacienda in c.94... literally and accidentally.

Peter Taylor in a garage near Brough (nice bloke)

Shook hands and had a brief chat with Steve Bruce at Charlton (had a longer chat to his son who was quite funny)

In the past I have walked past Johnny Depp in the street. Meh. Who cares?
Yesterday I said good morning to Alan Bennett in Clapham village and I'm still buzzing about it.

I put a picture of a grouse on Instagram and Paul “princess Diana’s rock” Burrell liked it. Turns out my man’s just surfing Insta at 5:36AM looking at things he could shoot.

One of the most significant must be William Shockley, Nobel Laureate and eugenicist shithead.

Had never heard of him but just read through his Wiki entry, which is quite a rollercoaster! A+ in Physics, F in Biology.

His work, particularly on semiconductors, has had a massive impact on all our lives, not only through the scientific breakthroughs but also for their commercialization. Shockley Semiconductor was the incubator for Fairchild Semiconductor, itself the incubator for dozens of pioneering Silicon Valley firms. For those who don't want to bother going to Wiki, in climbing he was most associated with the development of the Gunks.

Pretty disappointed with Dan’s hair TBH. I was expecting some epic styling to have taken place before the camera crew joined them at the crag, but it had clearly just emerged from under a hat. He should have texturising paste and cordless tongs in his sack at all times.

I saw Howard Jacobson (novelist and booker prize winner) on Tottenham Court Road on Friday morning and did the awkward “I know who you are and Thankyou” nod and smile thing.

A Hollywood film star, whom I shall refrain from naming, lent us his Manhattan apartment for a night last year. Which was nice.
