Winter Ticklist
September 07, 2006, 01:59:15 pm
It's almost that time of the year again! Time to put away the beta sticks and get out the mats, yes it's time for grit once again. So then, what's on everybody's ticklist this year?

My (much abridged) ticklist is:
Dreamland 7a+ Almscliff
Demon Wall Roof 7a+ Almscliff
Pistol Whip (well, maybe just maybe...) 7b+ Almscliff

New Jerusalem 7a Caley

Handy Andy's 7a+ Earl

First Arete 7a+ Ilkley

7a Crescent Arete Slab, Stanage
Green Traverse 7a Stanage

Stall 7a Gibb Tor (thanks to that JB pic!)

My projects at Wilton 1 and Holcombe Boulders

As little bouldering as possible really. Apart from:

High Speed Imp Act @ Churnet
Bat Cave thing @ Caley
Attitude Inspector @ Burbage South

Other than that, as many routes as possible - but only the truly, deeply, inspiring ones.

Was wondering if someone would post this topic soon. Temps are finally getting decent here and psyche is mounting rapidly. The list:

Chaos, V8, Moab Utah.
Stupa, V8, Red Feather, Colorado
The Big Pickle, V8, FA by your compatriot Jason Pickles at Carter Lake, Colorado
Analog, V8, Vedauwoo, Wyoming

Big numbers for an old git, but if I don't do them soon they'll never get done.

This winter ill be living in the states so id be happy with these.

If you happen to be in Colorado PM me.

in reality anything'll do I'm off for three more months after back surgery (mirco discectomy)  :furious:
back's getting there, siatic nerve is still shot :wall:

the tick list I would be hoping for...

Up "north"

  Mermaid Burbage Bridge
Sickle Crack and the dog Burbage south
Green traverse and adults only Stanage
  a bigger splash Rubicon

down south

phat slapper, petty thief and secret handshake cuttings

Font

   La balaine,
le lepreux direct (slopers at the top were damp/dripping last couple of times...), le coeur  and le toit de loup elephant
mister proper, mis kgb, danse avec loups and test de turing at 95
   the  red curcuit at 91....

ok so the font thing is long term wish list really but dreams dreams

Errr....it's inspiring to me??

Also, part of the reason is that I had the winter before last tackling, and mostly doing, problems of a similar standard in the Peaks - got a variety of styles (slab, roof, arete, traverse) done but ran out of cold weather before getting AI done, so I didn't get a dyno done.

Two new ones in Yorkshire and a new plum in the Peaks - as long as those wretched locals don't get it first...

To improve my style more than my strength.  Same projects as last year as I haven't done any, although as I'm recovering from time off at the moment I'm probably less likely to do them.  The keel always seemd doable when I've had a play on it. Just to get out more really.  I'd like to get back into doing a bit of trad too, although not too much  :)

Soapy, I am just recovering from said ailment. Tried acupuncture but didn't really help me much. A physio taught me how to do frictions on it and told me to also gently rub it (the tendon) to keep it soft. A glucosamine and chondroitin liquid supplement twice a day helped to noticeably speed up the healing process too :)

Most importantly, as soon as it started to hurt whilst climbing, STOP.
