This year I've not got a winter ticklist, instead I have a pre-thirty tick list that amounts to some 80 odd problems in the peak, ranging from Font 6a through to Font 7b.  I guess this leaves me with about 22 months to complete them but I suspect I won't do it and I'll have to push it to a pre-35 ticklist.

Some of the key ticks I want to get done are, in no particular order:

Breakfast 7a
7 Ball 6c
The Alliance 7a+
The Dog 7a
The Nose 7a
Hemline 7a+
Strawberries 6b
Gorilla Warfare 7a
The Jackaloupe 7a
Beachball 7a
Green Traverse 7a
Heart Arete 6b
Jerry's Arete 7a
Tierdrop 7a+

Summers not over yet though so I can't say that I'll be trying too hard just yet

last years:
2006:

1)Big Boss N - but there's still time
2)Take it EasyN might have to give this up - it hurts too much
3)At least two more probs from the black circuit at cusinere, towards the ultimate goal of ticking the whole thing (current progress: 26/34...)Y! 6 to go
4)Lots of stuff in N wales now my mates living there as a base, need to buy panto's guide for details of my ambitions! N - only trip that way was way too wasted to climb anything
5)Learn to climb with a rope again - get up a few 7b's in Turkey at Easter. Y - even onsighted one a fortnight ago
6)Try and climb more than my girlfriend, who only started this year, and has done a load more than me in the last four months. Y - easy tick this, great being able to combine holidays
7) More grit 7c's - consolidate the grade by getting at least five done here, and 5 in font. N - struggling to stand still at the moment

This Winter:
Big Boss
Noir Desir
Arrache Coeur
Iceberg (the whole thing)
Trois Homme et a Coup Fin (that black circuit again)
La chose (ditto)
WSS
Stall SS
Gibbering Wreck
Deliverance
Brads Wall
Get to Churnet (I know...)

my ticklist currently occupies around 4 sheets of A4 and is growing..... but the major hopes for the winter are:

- Layby arete, Slipstones
- V7 on front of virgin... and perhaps Pistol Whip if I can get some spotters and beta, Almscliff
- Fantasy League, Brimham (though I've not actually tried yet)
- Secret 7th & "LHS of the Horn", Caley
- DIA and Handy Andy's, Earl (have repeatedly fallen off the last hold of DIA... not sure whether that means I am close or  a sign that it'll remain forever just out of reach... hoping it was just the sweaty weather!)
- First Arete, Ilkley (again.... very close... or am I?).
- Hitchhikers, Crouching Tiger & Nadser, Kyloe In (again have previously been close but not quite had enough in the tank).
- Punk's Life, Carrock Fell
- Yorkshire 8a, Rothley

Also want to just get around to visiting the Bowderstone, Ilkley Rocky Valley, Queens Crag, and to do some trad in that magical window between non-sweatiness and too-cold-to-feel-fingers.

sorry, was this thread meant to be things I think I can do if I try them during this winter or was it meant to be things I would climb if I was actually a good climber?  I'm a little confused.

Mainly because I'm not a good climber.

"LHS of the Horn",

absolute classic, imho one of the best probs at caley. pine arete (sit start), flapjack traverse and the seldom done prob to the immediate left of mr smooth are all pretty much up there aswell.

out with a broken toe at the moment and beginning to feel anxious I'm gonna miss the autumn, or at least lack sharpness to make the most of it.. gutting to start to see leaves changing colour and be limping around

still, if I do brad pitt before xmas I'll be happy...

other stuff on my list; demon wall roof (left hand), streaky's traverse, zoo york..

plenty of classics I wanna try at places I've never bouldered at before.. eagle tor, robin hoods stride, cratcliffe. getting to font and hampi would be good. oh yeah and shit loads of stuff in north wales

Cuisiniere Duel? A fine ambition. Tricky nonetheless...

Cuisiniere Duel indeed.

(Perrin Jr  (a year or so before his retirement) cracked the intricacies of this problem having plotted it out on paper showing every subtle movement in core position necessary for success.  He said it was a case of moving ones weight ever so slightly left & right betwix the holds rather than hold-to-hold or you'll be spat-off - which is a notion I find attractive in a boulder problem.  Perhaps I live in the past a little - but for me, slabs are the source.)

You seen Graham's send in Dosage II? He seems to do away with some of the subtlety by boning really hard on those fingernail sized crimps, but it is very inspiring nontheless.

inspiring if you like having your fingernails ripped off that is. Its impressive to look at I'll give you that. I'd rather get some milage in than spent ages trying something I know I'm never going to do

I was put off ever trying Duel after seeing the bruises under my mate Jamie's fingernails after trying it. He has thick sturdy nails and is a very good slab climber, mine are feable waffers in comparison and i'm crap at slabs anyway.

Well I'll be trying to finish 3 things at the stone.

Picnic Sarcastic simply must get done  :'(
Power Pinch the original way, done the easier version.
Improper Opera any way!!

Had a chuckle to myself and had a play on Special Cases. Managed to do a move and nearly did two!!!

I would also like to maybe try climbing somewhere else apart from the Bowderstone!!!!!!!
