I wondered when that was going to go, was very wobbly last time i was up there. Hope it's not spoiled the probs too much. Any plan to stick it back on or is that sort of thing out of favour on grit?

I've got the hold from Why Me? in the dale  -the one that used to be at the top of the first bit before you move left over the overlap until July 97
Its in my cellar just looking at me

Most of Rubicon as well

Also few grains of sand from the previously sharper crimp at the start of Shit - about March 99 I think

snapped a 'foothold' off angel deelite on satdy while trying the right hand finish. felt ok, did the move, then bham - curtains.

stood up to find Greg to the Chapman and Nige to the L flanking me with faces filled with abject horror - undecided as to whether to    or

fortunately they laughed cos it hasn't done any lasting damage and it now adorns my mantlepiece - well for a week before the julie lobs it out.

I hate it when bits of rock fall off in my hands. Its more to do with having a fat arse than bearing down I'd venture.

Only the other day my arse dragged a chossy crimp off in between pinches wall and the flake just right of the toilet. Previously I had the pleasure of holding Dave Johnson's ropes as he yanked the crucial hold off Culloden, only to glue it back so badly that you could nearly hang the hold.

ADL - the bolts are very much still in this marvellous five move power fest, can't vouch for their integrity but they are still there. It was back in about '95-'96 I reckon.

Dave - you cannae see the holds. Its the only 8b route I know of that involves a hideous finger jamming wedge of death move.

Hmm, dunno. It was about 94/95 when Ian did it, and it was widely touted as being 8b then, although I have heard its come down to 8a+ these days - probably as a result of Dave Johnson making the crux holds bigger by accident.

If you are going to do it you need to be prepared to clean it. Its filthy.

As of last night I am the proud owner of the little spike/flake off the traverse on Chimes of Freedom. Thanks go out to Stone for collecting me this specimen.

CJD brought me back one of the crimps from the right end of the Roadrunner traverse - I'm building a shrine for it in the garden.

As of yesterday, I am the not so proud owner of the Fielders Wall pebble. Sorry.

Kanye had just slipped off with one hand on the top due to filthy rock, and was guaranteed to do it next go, then I went up and the pebble snapped just before I reached for the top.

It is probably still doable, but will be a bit harder and it was too grim and windy to have more than a couple of goes.

I snapped the right hand hold off "Tit Grip" at Ramshaw, I think Martin "The Trav" has it still.
I remember immediately being worried that I was gonna get shouted at by everyone, but instead everyone just cheered and said "at last" as it had been flexing for years.

Also snapped a foot pebble off in the top groove of "Doug" at The Roaches, unfortunately I was soloing it at the time, that was fairly gripping!  :o

Good thread!

Trackside boulder rail.

One piece of it anyway. I didn't break it though!
