I had just thought about how the phrase still made me uncomfortable (due to my PC conditioning) before I used it, despite its use in hip hop being copyright NWA 1989 or something.  Thought it made it illustrated what type of music it was anyway so it were a bit helpful. 

Obviously there're offensive connotations attached to it, but anyway:

If a black person calls a fellow black person that then I say fine you can call your self what you like, especially if it stuffs one to the white supremacists by hijacking their favourite offensive term. 

If a white calls a white that, I'd guess they're both showing mutual appreciation of that type of hip hop. 

It is possible that a black person could call me that (I'm an over thoughtful white twat in case you didn't know) and make me laugh.

However you wouldn't call a black person that, (unless you knew 'em really really well, or was quoting rhymes, or were both using far too much gangsta terminology) or would you. 

If I manage to get away with calling any of my black friends or my house mate* that without offending them at all, I'll be sure to let you know. 

* For the record she was mortified when I called her a Cockney.

I don't think it's racist, I thought that the modern useage of 'wigga' was the same as 'chav'. Useless, violent, antisocial drains on society. I've got black mates, but as far as I'm concerned they just have darker skin than me. If those who tell me in their 'songs' that they are 'wiggas' I am quite happy to call them 'wiggas'. The black people I know don't to my knowledge 'pack uzzis or ' beat their hos' so I don't call them 'wiggas'. If there was a less PC view about shite we would not have this thread.
