Mashed up fingers - any help appreciated
February 11, 2008, 10:16:49 pm
Word, obviously with the weather being a bit more pleasant for the week, guess who went out and trashed himself on Banana Finger Direct (again) last Friday?

Yes, that would be me - now I'm trying to climb all this week with some suspect fingers, and thought I'd ask for some help.

Basically, I've gone through the tip of my RH wedding ring finger, and also got a popped blister healing on my index finger tip on the same hand, so there's some new and soft skin there too. It heals a bit overnight, and then by the end of the day I'm through again.

Plus, I've got a load of really ingrained dirt / chalk / boot rubber on the sides of a couple of my fingers that won't shift no matter how much I scrub and now I'm getting a few cracks forming.

Aware these a different issues, so any advice that isn't "don't climb" (as I'd like to squeeze as much out of this week as poss) much appreciated...

You mean you've split a tip?  Sand it and moisturise.
Ingrained dirt and cracking?  Sand it and moisturise.

Sorted.

Terribly sorry twotone (I've always loved your infrequent posts) but for a while there I though this thread was a proper wind up.

Please - punter me for rudeness, I insist.

No worries Houd, no offence taken - pardon the pun but I have (wait for it...) thicker skin that that.
