20yrs ago today this happened
was in tianamen square a few months back with the missus and her family.
sat there and wondered how many of the chinese natives around knew or were let to know abt what happened.

I'd say they have to be, in no order what so ever

1. the fellow being shot in the spanish civil war, (ok a bit early but still modern era)
2. the little girl running away from a napalm drop (was it Mai Lai?)
3. raising the US flag at Iwo Jima
4. the fellow being shot point blank in the head by a policeman in the street (viet nam)
5. the second plane hitting the WTC

except perhaps thinking about it the most iconic must be the first photograph of Earth taken from space

I'd say they have to be, in no order what so ever

some do say that it was staged. i think 'staged' as in he wasnt shot but acted like he did for the picture
