Robbie Phillips has done Bellavista in the dollies. Not bad for a first alpine route. And pretty much new to trad as well.

Strong lad Euan Mcfadyn has done his first 8B+ at 17. King of limbs in Rocklands. Grade is a bit 50/50 but fine effort either way.

Think he might need his own thread soon. He did his second 8B+ today. Golden shadow. No doubt in grade on this one!

Why haven't 8a.nu noticed that a 16 year old has done two 8B+ in the space of a couple of days?

A star is born!

A prime example of a very very talented youth who would never have got so good, or had the opportunity to get to such amazing places, without such a supportive dad. Driving him to TCA many nights a week, which includes a ferry!

Take away the natural talent and the same is true of virtually every child. Your point is?

King of Limbs felt harder than Golden Shadow by a country mile to me. Good job on both Euan.

This is bollocks. Parents are people too; they come with widely varying levels of commitment.

If its true this kids father does deserve a tip of that hat which is all Adam was doing.

Emma Twyford has done Unjustified. 2nd girl to do 8b+ on British soil (or is it still regarded as 8c?). Fine effort regardless.

Well done Emma.
If its 8c in Spain then it should be 8c in the UK.

Nice one Emma!

I though true north was standard 8c whether in UK or europe , never been on unjustified but if it's a notch easier then I presume it'd be 8b+ in most crags in Spain too.. No doubt there are easier 8cs out there on the continent, but there are Spanish 8cs that are easier than 8b+s at the same crags, and ones that are nails, just like most places... In the nicest way possible I'd be more inclined to listen to Alan and Robbie's grade opinions than Adam's.

How many other 8b+/8c's have you done? You do realise what bogey means in this context? It's kind of like it should be average  :boxing:
