GROVSKOPA ~ Aarniometsä (I of III) (@ 320 / 50 mins / 128MB inc. pdf Tracklist)  This is brilliant (no really, it is).  Probably the most engaging piece of mixed music I've ever heard.  Tres emo.  2DX, 2CDJs, laptop, Midiman Oxygen 8, Vestax PMC270a.

Grovskopa is Swedish, and one half of the dark techno superduo Brethren (w/ Luka Baumann)

Don't overlook the Phase set from Detatched Bubs, I'd bet $ that you'll dig that one more than the Grovskopa mix.  Which is great, just, different.

Phase is on Token Records (Kr!z's Belgian label). They do vinyl and I think .wav.   Defo my fave label of the last couple of years, every release is prima.

Easily the best LIVE techno PA I've heard.  Voidloss AKA Dirty Bass no longer DJ's just produces tracks and PA's.  This one is quite spooky, but always offers something dynamic.

Buoyed by the apparent success of my last post, I present to you :

Paco Osuna, Live at the Rex Club

A friend started going out with some wannabe promoter chap who learnt of my interest in all things Richie and recommended Paco Osuna. I think he is on Richie's label. Anyway, I hunted around, turned up an EP but never, until now - a mix. And even now I didnt find this one, it actually comes via Sam Whitaker.

I often listen at my desk but usually its just on in the background. Listening to this, I found myself unable to concentrate on what I was supposed to be doing and phasing back into a fantasy of me on the decks above a massive crowd, arms in the air etc etc. Anyway, happy listening!

Just watched High Tech Soul; a movie about the birth of techno. You can find it via various bit torrent sites if 20 rips is too steep for you. I recommend you support the indie boys where possible as it's a nice little production.

Dark, brooding, beautifully pensive music that covers some huge territory. For me, this release is the definition of techno.
