Albums to buy
February 29, 2008, 03:22:39 pm
Up until the last year I've always managed to keep pretty up to date with music. However I got abit slack and haven't bought any albums for the past year or so. So suggestions for albums released in the past year - say around 10 - 20.

Genre - well I listen to Zane Lowe et al in the evening. Kind of into Indie / Rock type of stuff.

The Hold Steady - Boys and Girls in America
Wilco - Sky Blue Sky
Radiohead - In Rainbows
Battles - Mirrored
Grinderman - Grinderman
Super Furry Animals - Hey Venus!
Arcade Fire - Neon Bible
The National - Boxer
Dinosaur Jr - Beyond

I very much doubt you'd regret purchasing any of that lot (although of course that is a possibility...)

I've just got the new Drive by Truckers album, which is also superb, assuming you like a bit of southern gothic country rock.

Band of Horses - Cease to Begin

Downloaded this off itunes and been listening to it all weekend, some quality Americana / Rock.

Good recommendation Cofe.

I quite like Ugress, lots of free downloads of EP's, and if you buy the albums you get access to bonus tracks on the web-site.
