nige flashing what was meant to be a new 7c slab at the roaches.jb and nige thought 7b.
got a feeling dave aucott did it 7 or 8 years agohttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6CXPdTN6SdY

cracking stuff that

Good to see this getting some attention

maybe 7c was a bit over the top 7b seems more like it though these guys make it look about 6b, never been much good on slabs

It's quite an obvious line not to have been done before though I lot of grit crystals and quite a few brittle pebbles came off before I did it.

Whereabouts is this problem?

Fom the Lower Tier boulders walk left through the trees and it's up to the right, under the left end of the upper tier, on a similar level to Catastrphe International, but a fair bit further left.

My friend made this video and I think it is really good for his first effort. Not sure why Part 2 has some out before Part 1.

It covers our recent November trip to font and does a good job of capturing the feel of the forest. By his own admittance it is rough around the edges and there are a couple spelling mistakes, but I hope you enjoy it.

Nice vid otherwise.

There's quite a good 6c crack eliminate on the block to the left and a few easier ones. Also a good 6c ish slab problem further up and left about 50m down from condor slab if your'e about that way.

Following Paul B's tech support I've finally got my video editing sorted out.

This is definitely non-quality, but does show that if you're willing to hack your way into some Yorkshire esoterica there are some quality lines to be had:

Just need to send the bloody thing now!

Aye, spent a good few post-work sessions up there last year - there are some great problems there if you're willing to contend with a bit of bushwhacking and having to stake your pad to stop it (and you) sliding off down the hill!

Good to hear others are getting off the beaten track Tommy. Have you done / seen Pok-a-tok, Bilberry bulge, Moptopbloc, Golden axe, A little sparkle and B.C.? All classic Yorks Eso.

Yeah, spent quite a few sessions there last year - really good little venue, that block by the car park (i.e. the one with Safner's Arete on it) would be caked in chalk if it was in the Peak. Did learn pretty quickly not to go there with thin tips though!

Had a crack at Pok-A-Tok and Little Sparkle without success, but have since got fixated with Trust - as a first 7b it's right up my street, and could be one of the first (or indeed the first) repeats.

Does anyone know anything about this?

I've put it in the non-quality thread since it seems to be the most self-indulgent, navel gazing bouldering video (well, trailer for a bouldering video) I have ever seen. At first I thought it was a bit of a joke, but then i wasn't sure. They seem to really be that intense and ridiculous about the whole thing. Seemed to me to be constant complaining. I've travelled around the himalayas a bit and been on some crazy bus rides, but i loved the whole thing. Even the dodgy bumpy roads, the terrifying death drops and burnt out vehicles. The video seems to me to be a classic case of some arrogant americans going somewhere and finding it a little bit tough and then telling everyone how epic they are! Sorry rant over. It just got on my nerves.

On second thoughts maybe it is all a massive joke and I grabbed the wrong end on the stick and hung on firmly. Bouldering high up in the Himalayas does seem unbelievably cool. Maybe the joke is one me . . . .

Pretty certain it isn't a pisstake. Agree it's over indulgent drivel though.
