a hong kong shot from a week or two back - fantastic unclimbed highball arete (the easier problems round here actually have bolts at the top from where people used to TR them (of course, i'm working this beauty ground up for maximum satisfaction - although it does get quite scarey up there)

I concur. Really strange shot though, makes it look like some sandstone thing...

There is indeed good buildering there. This, for instance, is an alleged Dawes project, and rumours of uk7a have circulated. Also allegedly, Mr Dawes made a guide to the buildering which has since been pinched. Anyway, I've tried this problem and I can't do it. It involves pinching the tufa and then moving, which was always where I came unstuck!

(it's better when it's dry though...)

these are also pretty cool (sorry about the low quality, they aren't my photos):

..anyway, I know loads of good problems - some pretty hard stuff at the local wall as well, so if that guy at Norwich wants any info get him to drop me a line...

Re the pics of buildering in Norwich, the FA troll crossing of the river was done in about 1978 by myself,

As for other projects round UEA the pillar near the low entrance to the JCR is a good one, there's a sit start (under a window) then up the groove by the chaplaincy and many other's that i cna't remember.

Couple of shots of (probable) new problem I did weekend before last in Glen Clova, Deeside. Quite gratifying to see something one week and think it looks good, give it a clean the next week, and succeed on it the week after, with it being as good as it looks.

Anyway "Peel Session" tentatively gets V4, but it wouldn't surprise me if it was easier, especially with a couple of the holds in a cleaner state (or harder if you are a shortarse). Would like to see someone repeat it to confirm grade/quality. Let me know if you want directions to this, and other problems in the Glen

Cheers guys. Stuart also put up a nice shorter prob going from the same start holds up to the right arete at about V2. The right arete itself also hasnt been done, would need a good clean. There is a potential harder sit stary to Peel Session and the crack/block to the left is still to go, in spite of numerous efforts.

Plus a traverse of the face.......

Plus the big stuff up the valley and on the top of the hill.......

Probably be spring before I get there again though.

Paul's Bulge, Grooves Boulder, Wavelength hillside - first ascent: Paul Pritchard, 1997. Note critical right foot lock, allowing use of shite sidepull in front of Dense's (?) nose.
