It's hard, but it's not that hard. I definately reckon I could climb a lot harder than that.

Mostly piss, with one hard move, which is the pop for the crimp ru is setting up for in the pic. Maybe 7a+/7b. Totally basic pulling anyway, so I liked it.

Very grumpy looking spotter in the last shot, lol   .

That lightning strike does look cool. Can't it somehow bit a bit easier  :(

Ru's method has moves where your feet come off. Case closed.

i seem to remember huffy's feet coming off flava style...so...outside. now. shall we opt for swords or duelling pistols?

Actually, my doctor says I'm allergic to duelling. Sorry about that.

Lightning strike is up on Burbage South Edge, very near 7-ball, or mini 8-ball, or whatever you want to call it. Just along from Messiah, anyway.

What's the point of me retronaming this problem if you ignore it and retro-retro name it?

It's called Electrical Storm, for similarly lightening based reasons.

Bit of an unpleasant bulging-veins-under-the-eyes thing going on in the Little Gem pic too.

Good day though.

best, and traditional from the sloper straight up to the top of the groove thing, either by rockover or air - think the crimp out right was only recently cleaned? - well named

Wow!  Awesome pic!

On a cheery note, I once met a guy who saw somebody fall off soloing in the Verdon - he said he screamed for 1500 feet. Nasty.

A friend of mine was climbing there and his partner abseiled off the end of the rope after climbing up to free it (long story). The guy fell about 15ft and he caught him from a hanging belay position as he fell past.

Jeez - was he superman or something - how can you catch somebody who's fallen 15 ft

What's the route in that pic? Verdon routes always look so blank and desperate but I guess there's a lot of hidden pockets.

Apparently the guy was almost directly above him and he was sitting back in a "hanging belay" position, so he grabbed him and pulled him into his lap, resulting in a broken ankle for the guy who fell and massive bruising and internal bleeding in his thigh. They then had to climb out via 2 6a pitches!

Aye, why I climbed with him for 2 month afterwards. Thought he had been suitably de-accidented. Although he did get caught in a minor avalanche in Chamonix just after we parted ways.
