Nibs, 0friction doesn't allow links to pics, try something else. Good send, it's worth posting!

Yeah, those guys on 0friction pretty much suck. I can think of much better ways to spend my time than posting BS.

Quote
Winter set for early appearance!

The current unseasonably warm weather looks set to end in spectacular fashion during the next week as wintry conditions make Snowan early appearance across parts of the UK. A real dramatic change in the weather patterns is expected to develop, and by the middle of next week we expect a very cold north easterly air stream to be covering much of the UK, with the possibility of some snow down to low levels in northern regions.
The change from summer like temperatures to almost winter like ones is expected to be a result of high pressure retrogressing (goes from east to west instead of the usual west to east) and opening the gate to a deep plunge of cold air from the arctic. It is still only October and therefore southern regions are likely to miss the brunt of the cold plunge, but even here there is the possibility of some sleety conditions if the cold airflow becomes embedded for long enough.
If this pattern change does develop next week, we think there is a significant chance of it reoccurring and possibly bringing cold and frosty conditions around Bonfire Night.

I got Crescent Arete this weekend. Well chuffed. Falling from high up on my first try was almost as exhillarating as the climb itself. That's my first modest target acheived. :)

t-crack (still)
ego
fight on black
keel
andy brown's wall
ringpiece
block buster
bens groove

consolidate what i think are the good problems at brides into one circut (done now)

font: (go to font and do...)
le coure
carnage

and to get strong enough to complete all the problems in boulderuk within their month (very unrealistic).

It's the same list as last year for me, apart from Blockbuster, but with the added downside that there's lots more on it.

Keel,
Underhand,
Ben's Groove,
Juju club,
Fight on Black, (which I should have done last winter, but the top was manky)
Crucified,
First Arete,
Ringpiece,
Whiskey Galore,
Red Baron Arete,
Cheeseblock and arete to left,
Horror arete when there's not a dead sheep decaying under it,
Underpants,
Desert island Arete again,
Grape Nut,
lager lager lager,
lots more..

plus don't get injured in MCC comps like last year, then get some stamina for Sardinia in March.

Would be a very good effort.

we should do something about that sheep, it will be too cold up there soon for it to decay so might stay for the whole winter....shotgun not me doing the deed...

and that boulder uk thing, that was silly of me wasnt it? ignore the fact that i even ever thought of it. bring on tuesday night!

The rotting sheep adds spice, get it done.

Plus if you fall off on that side your biggest worry is braining yourself on the other block.... well ok mebbe being ankle deep in sheep innards is worse.

i did it the other day with that minging thing there. horrible.

i think there is something strange going on up there, loads of dead sheep everywhere, there was a new one in fish and chips at the weekend. its not even cold enough for mass death yet...

Apart from visiting areas that I haven't been to before and adding more projects to the list:

Pebble Arete
Crescent Arete
Bullworker
Hamper's Hang + problems before and after and linkup of these
Puck
6c+ Traverse on Heuco Wall at Cratcliffe
Lots of easier problems that I haven't done at Apparent North\Cratcliffe\Robin Hoods Stride\Burbage Boulders\elsewhere.

Go to Font and get mauled by sandstone.

Dunno if I will get all of these done - should do the majority but you have got to have something to aim at.

Hmmm... not much different to last years ticklist as I didn't even go near half the things I wanted to do.  No problem with that because any climbing is good and I climbed plenty of good stuff.

Off the top of my head, these are things I want to climb this winter.  I've tried some of them before, others I ain't:

The Storm
Trellis
Ram Air
Rampless
Jerry's Wall (Llanberis)
Ego
Jerry's Arete (Bridies)
Bad Moon Rising
The Beast (well, try it at least)

I predict that I will manage maybe two off this list and make a few attempts on some of the others.  Otherwise I will climb in places that I haven't even thought of visiting so far.

I did the classic dyno today- does exactly what it says on the tin! The move itself is pretty cool but the best bit is the crazy swing on holding the hold- shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit!

Another one off 'ze lizt.

So how's folks getting on with their ticklists then?

I've managed to get out to the Peak, Northumberland and Wales so getting away from the Lakes is officially ticked.

Managed my first V5 flash as well. Not groundbreaking but a good step forward.

Are you goofy or regular Nick? Lefts are on my winter ticklist too (although conditions will be a bit different here).

Got 3 weeks in South Africa before winter really sets in though. I am hopefully shopping for a smaller board out there.

Im goofy - but its kinda imaterial. The crux of the problem being doing anything other than going straight.

Anyhow - priorities have changed. Ive got two weeks back home over christmas so Im training hard and praying for good weather!

Goofy = Spazzy  ;) OK, just give it time and choose the right waves. I'm sure Falling Down and Old fella are better positioned to give advice than me.

If, for some insane reason, you feel like experiencing some North Sea surf, give me a shout. Otherwise good luck at the 'cliff. You will probably see Nibs (newly married) and Toby there.

This Winter I would like to tick (/work to death) some of the following...

Robin Hoods Stride:
7a+ from back of cave
Jerry's Arete

Cratcliffe:
T-crack

Stanage:
Green Traverse
To be or not to be
Deliverance
Silk Start

Secret Garden:
Beach Ball

Curbar:
Gorilla Warfare
Early Doors
Ben's Wall

Froggatt:
Ape Drape

Burbage:
The Nose
Trellis
7 Ball
The Alliance
Rocket Man

Gardoms:
Marks Roof (as many variations as possible)
Soft on the G

Higgar:
Pooh

Think that’s enough for just now. Better go climbing! Hmmm… Sunday looks good!

Not sure I posted mine, but it's the same as last years pretty much.

I have done Si's Arete at Almscliff, which was on the list.

Went to stanage, to boulder there for the first time, managed to flash green traverse, and do Rose and self-employed business man, and flash another 6c.

To be honest I've not been out in very good conditions yet.  Also did a V7 arete at Caley near roof of the world, that I wouldn't mind trying from sit start at V9.

Added underhand at Almscliff to the list too.  Really good problem for anyone who hasn't tried it.
