Thought it would be nice to have a thread for people to talk about where they've just been and what've they've just done, seen, tried and been convicted for...

Seems recently people have only been posting if they have a specific subject, or been somewhere unusual. So here's a thread just to rave or rant about whatever problem/venue is on your mind at the moment. Mostly cos I'm a nosy bugger.

Remember people, it's good to squawk...

I've just been to Trowbarrow. On Saturday that is.

Apparently they had 17cm of rainfall in 24 hours, so the ground was a bit soggy. Was good though, the red wall was mostly dry. Had a bit of a play on greg's dyno - man that's a long way. Got close, but I remain cigarless. That 7c dyno is crazy. generating any movement at all from those tiny crimps is beyond me. Got to the last move of Shallow Grave several times - great problem, wierd holds - but a combination of willies and puntering defeated me.

Hey, and I pulled off the rh crimp on Mojo. sorry. It was already a bit wobbly though. Don't think it will be too much harder.

I do like the big boulder, despite being ambushed and floored by the big spike as I examined low holds. Superfunkythingy was good. As was that V8 from the slot and pinch sidepull, though although could I hit the hold every time I couldn't seem to make my fingers close. Frustrating, but I'll be back. Lots of stuff on that boulder to aspire to...

Yep. All gravy. The tasty sort. With mushrooms in.

top move of shallow grave is good, use that dug out crimpy sidepull crack thing with your right, then just lunge with ya right. i fell off it the first time i tried straight into that hole (grave) to the left, intense.

seriously tho i spent my weekend in edinburgh sight seeing and drinking, quality. no climbing and an 8 hour train ride back to london village. weekend in the peak will make up for it tho...

Cheers, will have to look for that next time. Was just using the protruding flattie for my right, and it seemed a long way.

Went to the Manchester comp on Friday Night and climbed like a donkey with both hind legs amputated, worst performance of my life. Gutted as I'd done ok in the first two. Ah well I can drop one round and I think it may well be that one...

I've just been to the swimming pool and sauna, pleasant enough.

Over the weekend I went, against my better judgement, to Alsmcliff. It was, as I expected, claggy bad-conditioned over-crowded gash. The bull in the herd of cows was cute though.

I've been to the gym. Becuase its been raining non stop for 2 days.

However, the other day I did check out a huge roof at a new place. It had 3 good lines - a 6, an 8 and an 11. Then I went to the beach.

That is all.

Yeah, don't believe the hype- It pisses it down in the summer. In fact, thats when we get most of our yearly rain fall.

It was nice on sunday tho.

Ive just been to Palm Beach north (where home and away is filmed) and did some nice problems on the boulders on the beach there. Not very extensive but good for a few hours fun (tho I didnt do the steep line on the side)

Then I went surfing

The new place is Sunnyside. Its tucked (funnily enough) just off Sunnyside Crescent, Castlecrag. Off the Eastern Valley Way toward Sissy. BTW, I've replied to your PM.

sat I went to hope quarry, did up a few old projects and pulled the crucial starting hold off my big project just as I was getting close to doing it :cry:
I still have the hold and plan to go back soonish and glue it back on and climb the damn thing

Sat - Surfed at Banff, sunny, 3 ft waves.
Sun - Went to Clova. Tried to boulder, but it was vetoe due to cold and wind, so went for a walk to check out undeveloped boulder and crag. Potential.
Mon - Climbed at RGU wall. First decent session of year, felt ok on boulder probs, got surpriseingly pumped on routes.

Was your mouth out you filthy peak scum: the 'cliff was awesome this weekend. conditions on saturday were mint and sunday was fine as soon as the mist had cleared. You can't really fult it for being overcrowded when it was probably the only dry grit crag on saturday. Were you chuffing or bouldering?

Thursday I went to the physio.
Saturday I stayed at home, watching the west wing and doing physio.
Sunday I went to the foundry with rupert and ruptured everything.
Today I went to the physio. :?

I've just been for my first physio since a wrist operation and found I have an average (and equal) grip strength of 42Kg's and an extremely attractive physio to boot :D
