Went for a muddy mooch on Saturday eve - was all fairly gopping.  River has breeched right across underneath caviar wall, Kudo bit looked the driest - but didn't look too closely - Big pool underneath Rubicon and quite wet to the left of it.

Thinking of maybe heading up this weekend to try Rubicon (the route), anyone know if the pool beneath it has gone/reduced yet?

I haven't been for 3 weeks so I don't know. On the basis of the sheer amount of rain we've since then, I'd of thought it quagmire ;)

I thought as much, only been there once and not sure what it's like for drying so thought I'd check. Cheers!

bouldering - kudos wall all dry apart from slight dampness in low pockets on tsunami, bigger splash etc. bouldering under rubicon mostly dry but landing still a pool of water.

routes - rubicon dry but with in-situ pool. zeke (lowdown) pretty damp, sissy and routes to the left looking dry. hot fun closing dry. too old to be bold, danger bros and tribe all looked dry. caviar - barracuda area seeping. salar dry.

as of this afternoon. it hasnt stopped raining since i left at 6ish so it may get worse.

as of tonight - everything on kudos wall dry enough to do, although some odd bits of seepage. River pretty high, so three-traverse warmup area is flooded, and ideally you need wellies to get in.

All piss wet this morning with run off down kudos wall. The sun and wind burned most of it off by PM but I would expect it to creep back a bit over night.
Most of Moat Buttress righthand was dry anyway. Good for mid 7 mileage.

Was there late afternoon yesterday. Kudos all dry and the routes on the right look like they were drying out also. Caviar was quite wet! The path underneath was still flooded.

Everything up at X pretty much dry save for the occasional streak. Even Bizarre Ride was looking climable. Although I didnt do it. Thats a point. Anyone know how this one goes? Sitting or crouch start? Any cheeky foot beta??

is the path under kudos flooded or just under caviar?

The way Tom and I originally did it was from crouch. Good smear for first move to left hand crimp and then it revolved around a right heel on the obvious spike for the move to right hand pinch. Paste feet on near starting hand hold for the last hard move to the split edge.

thin skin...

to answer my own question, ground fine under kudos, approach now possible without wellies but still wet under the traverses and caviar

I tried this briefly last November before everything got wet for the year and went from LH crimp to shitty RH, then again to the jug without using the pinch at all, so it's also possible like that (though I didn't do it). I have no idea if this is easier or harder, it was just how I presumed it went...

That is the direct sequence, originally done by Ru, but seems to be put down as "Peckit's Problem" by those with 8a.lookatme scorecards, presumably cos he claimed it after being told it was a project. Similar or slightly harder difficulty, but less reachy.
