Sorry Sam,
not having access to the coverage I always check the news and wrongly presume everyone else does so.

Found this site: https://easyview.eu/itv4/ to work reliably and painlessly so far with decent sd quality, no ads and no vpn required.  I'm watching in France so might/should work for you?

Been enjoying the itv4 coverage but yeah, it's hard to avoid the results, especially for the races shown the next day.
I really want a motorbike.

It''ll be fine - already cut my teeth on an inherited Team Honda cub 50 when I was 12/13.  Sadly it got half-inched from the garden shed and never owned a bike since.

On a side note, checked the qualifying sessions and couldn't find McGuinness.

He's not riding. Broken leg. He did however watch the red arrows with me this evening. Chris says hi etc...

Ah dammit. How did it happen?
And, is Hutchy still recovering from last year's accident?

Can't remember exactly what happened but he broke his leg last year on the demon bike I think. He was supposed to be racing this year (for Norton) but had a set back/re-broke his leg. He did a 'parade' lap on the Norton this year but can't race.

Hutchy re-broke his already very broken shouldn't really have healed leg last year. When you see the x-rays it's amazing he's even walking again!

Last nights superstock race was the motorbike best race I've seen... Proper edge of the seat stuff!

Personal news; On Sunday I took my first lesson on a 650cc bike, after 16months riding my Yamaha DT125.
It went really well and I passed a mock Mod1 test and so been given the go-ahead to take the test proper, which is now booked for the 18th  ;D

I think we can talk about the stoke race now can we ?!?

As I suspected, really close race.  Feel a bit gutted for Dean, though he seemed happy enough with a podium. And is there any point in having a full Superbike these days, if the stockers are literally only a second off the pace.
Rutter there or thereabouts.
As Hicky, what a result!!,  9th back to 1st.
Whats with the trophy though, it didn't look like the normal silver lady. Or are they only for certain races??

Cam Donalds main contribution... "and look at Michaels rear suspension working hard on that rear facing camera"  x 5

Though to be fair, I liked the comment about them using the O of the SLOW sign as their marker. That's the kind of stuff I'm wanting to hear from him.

More of the same last night!

Assume the senior coverage will be on Friday night, when I have a prior commitment. (in the pub with old friends so not all bad).

Weather looks to be sticking for tomorrow too.

Is 135 possible??

Yes, I think it is.
The best times of each sector add up to a 16:40 lap and 135,6 mph.
Dean Harrison did 16:50 I think, from a standing start and losing 11 seconds for a mistake, so probably a good 15/16 seconds to save...

I agree woth Nibs that it is certainly possible. It would be remarkable, but definitely possible.

I also wouldn't be surprised if the sidecar lap record got re-broken tomorrow.

Spoiler Alert
NSFW  :
first lap first race outright lap record!!

134+mph lap from a standing start, the world's gone mad.

Am I reading that right? People go over 130mph around the TT circuit as an average?

Fuck me, I'm agog, I had no idea. If asked I'd have guessed 90h average and that still seems crazy. How is this even allowed never mind encouraged! The margins must be nonexistent.

Can we talk about the Senior now?
 :dance1:
What a race!

P.s. I was wondering: what's with the "silver replica" and "bronze replica" trophies? I don't get how they are awarded.

I'll hold of on senoir Race chat for now.

Duma the shiny doesn't photograph well (with my limited skills...) but in the flesh they look amazing, and the workmanship on the bikes (the race bikes and the road bikes) is incredible. There's some very tidy welding going on there.

Anyway on with the photos...

Brilliant!
P.s. Me loves a little bit of Iron Maiden stuff. I bought a "Trooper" t-shirt in Carnaby St. while I was over to study English, I was probably 12, and I still have it. It's basically transparent now.
P.p.s. Just a while ago, while I was putting my helmet and gloves on while seated on my bike, in a very central parking lot in the city centre, I heard "Congratulations!" So I turned around, and a few rows down the parking there was a girl starting her scooter. She added: "It's very beautiful!" So I thanked her, we had a brief chat about the modifications and then we parted. Quite cool to be honest.
