I think you could just add such places to the same "place to visit" forum, but just give the true story about how shite it is....

...and then wait for the abuse from outraged locals....

i'm sure theres about 20 people right now thinking the word "stirrup". DON'T EVEN GO THERE GIRLFRIEND!

my top 5 other shite venues are Jesmond Dene, Causey Quarry, Millstone, the Sway-On boulder and the Sugar Cube thing up by elephant cave on the orme.

Save your legs:
The Oxstone - pap on stalk
The Causeway Slabs - One half decent V3/4 does not justify the walkin
Reinstor - Ok for a picnic but leave the boots at home unless you're into vertical polish and monos

don't bother dave - been there meself and the place/problems suck like, I believe you say, a dyson.

had a thing for more esoteric venues for a while last year but one visit to causeway slabs killed that good and proper.

not sure about Millstone, granted there's not much there but it's not that much of a walk-in and Technical Master is the best problem in the Peak...

What about crookstones?  after the epic trek up the bracken and heather infested hillside to find brittle, dirty rock with maybe 2-3 half decent problems    A truly shite place where I will never go again!

That's depressing - I've been wanting to go there for years.

Oh well.

What about some of the newer/obscure crags on Yorkshiregrit.com? What's hot, what's not so hot?

cant do technical master

What about Derwent Dutch, i seem to remember us having a thoroughly splendid expedition up there   In particular i remember u raving about it for weeks, something about always wanted to go back there since

Personally i hate that mingin tourist hole that is Ilkley. The problems tend to fit into two catagories - polished or shit, mayb a third - polished and shit! Admittedly there are some nice problems which i have been on - rons traverse, fun dyno , first arete (probably a few more). Its a personal ting but i have just never got on with the place, probably summit to do wi scallies runnin wild depositing hypodermics wherever they feel fit

Crookstones is indeed shit. Crookrise is great, Rylstone is great, the bit in the middle is shit. How they got away with all that hype when they found the place I'll never know.

Millstone is bo. Anyone who don't like it ain't got no footwork. Green death direct - amazin and unique. Master chef is also the bollox. Wouldn't bother with boho groove tho...

2 or 3 problems does not make millstone a good bouldering venue!

yeah i liked it up there the few times ive been up. Just the day we went up it howled a gale with the wind in our face, making the walk in last forever, did the prefect porthole, and then got caught in the largest rainstorm of my life, without coats and shit, werent most enjoyable day eh dutch?

As for millstone i could never diss it even though im not a fan of the boulderin. Its such a quality crag for everything else i feel obliged to stick up for it. even tho i cant do technical master, he says fightin to keep the tears back
