Accomodation for Cresciano/Chironico?
January 12, 2012, 03:28:44 pm
Does anyone have any good knowledge on affordable accomodation in the area?

Our trip is going to have 5/6 people on the team.

Has anyone who has been before know any good places to stay that are reasonably priced.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 :)

Hey Ben

Going in the Easter holidays. I work in a school so this is the only time I could get off.
Flying to Zurich and then driving down to the Chironico/Cresciano area.

 :2thumbsup:

Bloc 1001 is a good little shared house type thing at the base of the road leading up to cresciano boulder area (10-15min walk). Very convenient.
Alternatively there is a campsite in claro which is where we stayed when we went but thats quite a long walk. Took us about an hour first day but we got it down to about 45 by the end of the week.

Just noticed you have a car so you wont have to walk up the stupidly long steep hill.

Mate, at easter i think i would go to Magic...

It could be mint up there then. Whereas it will likely be quite warm down the valley I would have thought - of course, i could be wrong.

You dont have to stay at the campsite in magic either - met a couple there when I last went who had gone to the tourist info in splugen and managed to get an apartment which was well cheap as i remember.

Anyway, tommy - read your PMs.

Thanks for the details chaps!

Sleezy Jet have just cancelled our flights. Obviously there is a free transfer so might follow the knowledge (from Tommy Dixon and Ben) and fly to Bergamo instead and then drive accross.

This is apparently also good as you can stock up on some food before heading into pricey Swizz.
Thanks Dobbin for the info, legend!  :great:

Have found a nice gite in Bellinzona and it doesnt look too far to drive.
Will check out some of these other places though and see if I can find something a bit cheaper.
