he never gave much away did he, that's what he needs to work on most with Murray, stop the tantrums and continuous talking to himself/team when it's not going well.

Quote from: Roger Federer
"I haven't lost in five months or something so it's not that bad, don't feel too sorry for me.

Kinell what a match that was.
5 hours with some great tennis (apart from the one sided fourth set)
I'm not sure who will win on Sunday now. Nole must be tired after that

My work rate has gone seriously downhill today. Got all excited after the third set and started watching at the point he unravelled in the fourth. My fault obviously  :sorry:

He almost did it. It's no disgrace losing to the no.1 like that.

Last year that would have been a three set match, much improved attitude after just two weeks with Lendl. He should have won though really, putting the big matches away from the positions he was in is something he really needs to work on. Lots of positives though, just hope he doesn't implode like he has after Australia the last two seasons.

Impossible to call the final, both players showed real guts and reserves to win their semis, odd to see such celebrations from them both just for making the final. Leaning toward Rafa but Djokovic doesn't seem to know how to lose, the positions he's come back from in the past, should be cracking.

If Djokovic wins on Sunday I'll be truely amazed. He looked beat and lead legged at times today. You think he's cracked and then from nowhere a 2nd, 3rd, 4th wind. The level of fitness (of both) is mind-boggling.
Hopefully Murray will see the big improvement and Lendl will focus this positive going forward.
It was a game worthy of any final. Chapeau to both.

Ooo. Controversial: Pat Cash on the R5L commentary,

"The Shelias should play five sets like the blokes if they get the same prize money"

I don't think Djokovic is human. Truly amazing stuff yesterday.

Anyone been watching the French Open? I was a bit gutted to see Murray and Stoser go out over the last couple of days and, with no frenchies left, am now unsure who to support.

I guess I’m now going for Djokovic and Sharapova, as they can both get the career grand slams and obviously Nole will then hold all 4 at once. Wow….

I'd like to see Nole win, but I think Nadal is just better on clay. He's had a pretty easy go of it this far and I don't think he's dropped a set.

I can't really see past Nadal (he seems to be making short work of Ferrer at the moment) but would love to see Nole hold the lot.

The women’s is all over the shop. They need some players to step up and start winning consistently. Wozniacki needs to climb of young Paddy, stop doing commercials and become the player she could be.

Can't really look beyond Rafa the ways he's playing but Nole doesn't know when he's beaten, the balls he shows at match points down is outrageous.  Hope he makes the final (no disrespect, Roger), The Unstoppable Force vs The Immovable Object, should be epic.

Yes - well done to the grumpy bastard. And well done for carrying on being a grumpy bastard rather than an over trained media puppy.

Bloody fantastic. Was listening .o 5 live last night in bed but fell asleep. Woke up early this morning and checked my phone to get the result. Throughly deserved for being who he is, not pandering to the media and playing quality tennis. Not sure I'd have coped watching the match with it going into the 5th set.

I was a bit disappointed not to see a post from Mr. Murray in the YYFS thread to be honest.

I was too tired so didn't start watching for fear of being sucked in to it and staying up til past 1am. Thought it would go to 5 sets.

Yes, well done Murray. Fantastic achievement and shows just how he's matured as a player and a person. Said to Mrs S that I thought after Wimbledon and the Olympics this would be the grand slam he'd finally win. Think the confidence he got from the gold medal tipped the balance mentally. Watching him in the horrific conditions in the semi final he looked a different player to the one who would have blown a match like that a year or so ago.

was listening to that on 5 extra. Sounded like a lot of errors and winners and a good fight back. Good to see both her and Watson doing well again, a good improvement on the inconsistencies of baltacha and keatavong  :clap2:
