5.10 siren heel split? anyone?
May 09, 2011, 07:14:55 pm
Has anyone had a problem with the 5.10 Sirens splitting down the heel? it seems some of them look split when new and some of them don't and was wondering if this affected the performance of the shoe or if people had returned them because of it. Any info is much appreciated.

Don't know about that, but one of my friends went through about three pairs in 2 months a couple of years ago cos they just kept coming apart everywhere else, she just gave up in the end and moved on to katanas which surprisingly stayed in one piece. Don't know if they still do that now, i'd have thought not but not certain...

yep mine have done the same in only a month but hasn't really effected performance - only a slight split on both shoes but a little disappointed though!  Hoping it doesn't get any worse.

Seems to happen to a lot of them, my gf's and has also happened a bit on my new Newtons.  Got in touch with the distributors and they said they would be happy to replace them, however it doesn't appear to get worse and doesn't seem to affect the performance, so we decided just to keep them.

I've been informed that it's an intentional design feature. The heels are very narrow and are designed to give a little bit to help the fit. Seems plausible
