Hi guys, I was wondering if any one has any tips on shoulder exercises, without the use of free weights, cheers.

Press ups

Overhead presses and upright rows with any heavy object (small children enjoy being the liftee)

I sure there'll be someone along to tell you about Theraband exercises...

I do wide press ups every climbing day and 20 mins of theraband exercises a few times a week. Don't forget to do stretches with any of these exercises.

Shoulder exercises?  What for?  To not get injured... or to get stronger at specific, shouldery moves?

Not worth stretching too much if you're trying to stabilise your shoulder

Hey, Yeah I'm just lacking in the shoulder strength department really, especially with big rockovers. and yoga warm ups.  ;)

Sorry it was a poor reference to a thread on yoga and core which wound Lund up somewhat!

note to self: Must use less sarcasm (especially on the internet)  :spank:

Try this webiste:http://www.exrx.net/Lists/ExList/ShouldWt.html

It's really good for finding exercises with free weights and self body weight. I would think that if you really want to strengthen your shoulders you should be looking at using free weights.

Best to check with their parents first, though.

Be a good idea to strengthen rotator cuffs whilst your at it.

Talk about practice what you preach, my shoulders sound like pepper grinders (at least they've stopped hurting and/or popping out occasionally). Probably because I never get round to doing any rotator cuff stability exercises but still find the time to do shoulder presses and god knows how many hours a week dangling, swinging and pulling from them. I'm like a fucking poster boy for bad training. Stupid. Sod it, I'm going to ask for some therabands for crimbo.

Dips, Press-ups, Pull-ups (TypeWriters)
I have a good thera-band workout that targets the shoulders and elbows. Dont know where the link is but its from the Ohio State University!
