I thought I might need to cut back on the amount I swear until I read this........

Jasper, do you own your own firm or does your boss give you internet access in hrs of work?

It's just if I swore all the fucking time on work servers I'd b cunted by the spyware the twats have installed.

( 3G dongle saves me)

You work for the NHS, I do self employed work for a firm where 6 of us work and I have known my boss for 10 years. We don't have any filters etc.

I had no problem swearing on forums whilst working at the NHS, conceptually I don't see how "spyware" might detect what you're typing.

What they could do is trace what web-sites you've been visiting based on your browsers cache and deduce who you are in that manner, but you'd likely have to spend an inordinate amount of time doing stuff to attract anyone's attention, or be in trouble already and have your employers looking for a reason to dig up dirt on you.

House of Lords thrown out piracy clause to digital economy bill.

Not sure the alternative of blocking "certain sites" (i.e. trackers) is such a good idea though, still plenty of anonymous proxies and ways round it though for those who are so inclined.

That's insane - "The Great Firewall of China the UK" implemented under the ruse of protecting rights-holders.

I don't know why nobody has pointed out to UK Gov that this whole exercise is a waste of time. As slackers says below there are plenty of ways round this.

For $5 p/month you can subscribe to a commercial darknet based in a country where the UK will have no legal resource. You can then effectively do what you want.

And anyway such legislation will just drive the further development and uptake of trackerless bittorrent (and similar) technologies.

Chat Roulette is a new one on me.

Any plans to implement video chat here at UKB?  :P

I know Bubba put the real-time chat in a while back, but never used it myself and it no longer appears to be linked from the "Info Centre" at the bottom of the front page.

 an oversight, despite outward appearances I don't spend 24/7 on UKB.
