Simple Pleasures

At the opposite and of the complicated cheese on toast; things that are great without doing anything with them and ready to eat.

Currently loving the ASDA Extra Special West Country Yoghurts.

They really are ace.

Edit:   port and stilton probably misses the point of the thread so I'll go for dark, chunky marmalade instead.

Blah Blah Blah, wondered how long it would take for someone to come up with that.

I had money on Sloper or Houdini.

Yes, i'm a chav because of where I do my shopping.

No you miss the point.

At work my local supermarket is an Asda. I have, on a few occasions, tried to get something nice from there to take home for dinner (just chuck in the oven stuff) but I've never managed it. The quality of their premium range stuff is worse than the standard stuff at Sainsbury's etc. and it aint that much cheaper (sometimes it's more expensive).

This is what I've found to be FACT based on experience, not snobbishness.

Well I guess I have simpler tastes, as we shop there regularly and eat well, but never buy chuck it in the oven stuff.

Some of their pizzas are ok for throwing in the oven, not a patch on making your own (nothing ever is), but quite passable, and if you get one made there they're usually pretty generous with the toppings.

I've always found the standard of fruit & veg pretty shit there too but now I'm thinking maybe it's just because it's at Chapeltown so nobody buys fresh stuff OR premium range stuff and it's all been hanging around on the shelves for months (cue puntering from Plattsy).

I'll try those yoghurts out Chris.

Toblerone is a great shout.

Tangfastics are also great, as are Jelly Babies.

White chocolate covered strawberries although not simple as such do come in a packet so are convenient and very moreish.

Can't punter you Jasper for saying Chap Asda is crap cos it is. It's just my local and the alternative would be Moggies at Ecco. Full of Parson Crossers and Shiregreeners.   :devangel:

Never before has a South African company expanded and diversified so well.

On the crisp front, I find these dangerous.
