Who are people using and what are the best deals at the moment?

I found http://www.fasthosts.co.uk pretty cheap, but never heard of them.  Is it worth looking for hosting in the UK rather than abroad? I have another site hosted  in the US and don't seem to have issues.

I'm not expecting a huge amount of traffic on the site and would like to buy a domain name at the same time

ive used fast host aswell and they are fine, just not as cheap

But doesn't sound like you'll need a shit load of bandwidth / space anyway so sounds like a bargain.

yeah i use it for a few websites and they are fine with everything, mind you ive not had massive traffic so im not sure about the bandwidth use or mass downloading but email him and they will answer your questions.

I've been so pleased with them I've started up another server with them for my other sites.

I tried some UK companies before getting my new server - they don't compete on price and the customer service is terrible in comparison.

I use Easyspace for my personal website. They have a great reliable service and are fairly cheap. Have used them for about 5 years now.

I use Orchard Hosting and have done for several years. Based in Manchester, you can always call and speak to a real person if there are any issues. I've never had any downtime and highly recommend the service. I'm currently on the £25/yr package which gets:

1000 MB storage
40 GB/month trafffic
50 email addresses
Free domain
And loads of other stuff I don't need/understand

Ive just signed up with InMotion in the US. 8 bucks a month for their mid range plan with plenty of extras. Just installed word press on there without any issues

I've been with Orchard about ten days - brilliant so far. Everything has gone smoothly do far, and support has been very good. Automated Wordpress install etc. And in the MCR, which was a deal breaker. Ta Greg.
