There's a few of us on here who support Championship teams and like stats. This will interest you if so:

After yesterday I like football again.
36,400 of us at Hillsbro to see us beat the blunts.
It was what going to the match should be like all the time. Full ground, great atmosphere, we win :)

The wonderfully subtle song of celebration is still ringing in my ears
"This city is ours, this city is ours, fuck off united, this city is ours"

I heard about 8k watched it on big screens at Bramall Lane too. Nearly 45k turnout for a League 1 game is quite impressive.

You'd just hope that this result coupled with how well United have been doing this season will mean that both sides get bigger crowds for the rest of the season. Although they have the highest average attendances in L1 (20k SWFC, 18k SUFC) both need to be getting more fans through the door to come anywhere near to reducing the losses they make.

As a neutral when it comes to Sheffield teams I hope both go up as it would mean two more Brighton games nearby (the unthinkable notwithstanding) and would be good for the city.

Completely agree about both sides going up.
Obviously I'd still love us to get the second automatic spot, assuming Charlton stay top, but I'm afraid it looks like the play offs for us.

I get the feeling it will be hudds V a sheffield team at Wembley this season

I don't think the league could pick a better fixture for the neutral

A great weekend of football all round.  Jasper, listening to R5L and reading Twitter, it seems 99% of Ipswich fans were embarrassed and bemused by that banner.

City strolled to victory on Saturday and it's a sign of how far we've come when clubs like Blackburn turn up at Old Trafford knowing they can win yet arrive at COMS with a damage limitation strategy.   With the Toure's coming back from the ACON and Tevez in the squad it's like we've made three new signings last week.  Ya ya was awesome on Saturday.  Great atmosphere in the ground too.  We're taking nothing for granted.

I hope I don't fall under a bus between now and the end of the season and miss what could be our first league title win in my lifetime.

Yesterday's Carling Cup was really exciting.  I'd been out at Helsby with TomTom and drove back hearing the Cardiff goal go in and then watched the rest the game and the pens.  Fantastic cup tie!

Yep agree. Would be great from my POV if it was Hudds against the blunts. They could lose to a team playing in blue and white stripes again then  :)

Hope Graeme's having a drink or five

Well:
It was a Saturday so yes I had too much to drink (well actually that's a given for anyday really)
I was in Font so yes I had too much to drink
We did beat Arsenal easily so yes I spent far too much money texting fellow Mackems and Gooners.

Shame that we followed it up by our worst defeat all season. But hey ho at least the Skunks drew as well. At home.

Posted by a mate on FB.
On The Fall Of Fabio Capello.

All very good but it does fail to mention 1st September 2001. Which was a night that I will remember for a very, very long time.

As discussed on Twitter this is a very good article about Stuart Pearce and England:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog/2012/feb/27/stuart-pearce-england-caretaker-manager

Despite his failings with City and up and down U21 stewardship, I'd love to see Psycho in charge for Euro 2012. Better him than overrated crook 'onest 'arry and let's be honest, what have we got to lose?

At least it would be entertaining one way or another.

And any excuse......

That was after 31/05/11 when these accounts are to. Shows WHY they sold them though.

Maybe, but it's impressive stuff that the first £250k has been raised so quickly.

Pompey are in deep shit. £50 million in debt from administration 1, and £50 million in debt for administration 2. Creditors from admin 1 accepted 20p in the £, now they have to do the same again.. 20p in the £ of the 20p In the £.. S they'll get 4p back for every £1 they were owed... And the previous owner gets the parachute payments.

Deep shit. If they dissolve, then I believe all points won against them are lost..

The hull daily mail reporter tweeted the other day 'I'm not bothering to book a hotel for our away game at
Pompey, doubt it'll happen'...

Chelsea lost to WBA yesterday and everyone is expecting AVB to get sacked. Forget Megson and Clark this would be the most undersrerved sacking of the season.
AVB has inherited a team of has beens who no longer seem interested in playing football. The likes of Lampard, A.Cole, Terry are all getting old and not the players they were. David Luis in not a centre half (as we are used to). He was desperate to impreove the squad but he did not get the players he wanted.
I think Lampard will be his down fall. as soon as he gets dropped he complains to the papers. He gets back in puts in a performance for the first game, second game none existant, dropped and repeat.
He needs to overhaul the squad.

Doesn't Grayson win that accolade?
