Interesting to see APOEL Nicosia qualify last night. With an annual budget less than Carlos Tevez' salary it's some achievement especially when Man United, Chelsea and Man City are yet to make it to the knockout stage. In a sadly predictable tounament, it's a nice touch.

Of course, Man United will score in injury time to get through, APOEL will draw them in the last 16 and like rabbits in the headlights they'll lose 4-1 at Old Trafford (having taken the lead).

Still, the €17m they've already gained from the Champions League run will revolutionise their training facilities and youth team setup so it's nice to know it's not all going to go in some greedy troll's back pocket.

I find it absolutely amazing that a man with no management experience is being paid £1.5m a year to get a Premiership club relegated. Venkys make Mike Ashley and The Glazers look good.

As a Blackburn fan, I don't think Kean is all that bad. He's got Rovers playing good football; he's just managed to suck all the defensive ability from them. There was once a time when the football we played was dull as f**k but it was hard to get a goal pas Samba, Nelsen and big Brad. Now, we play some nice flowing attacking football (I rate Rochina and Hoilett) but seem to refuse to defend. Robinson also pisses me off as he can go from a fantastic save to letting it role under his body within minutes.

The problem is, Blackburn has been an overachieving (top 10, 6 out of 10 seasons since coming back up and top 10, 10 out of 17 seasons in the premier league in total) , "family" run small club with good grass roots support and not a lot of money. It’s now run by some Indian pirates (one of them definitely looks like on extra from PotC) who seem to have delusions of grandeur far in excess of the clubs ability and bank balance.

The days of Jack Walker, the premier league title and the SaS are well gone. If they just got Kean a defensive coach I reckon we could be alright, it’s not even Christmas yet!

(I should point out that my Uncle Roy, a proper season ticket holding fan and the man to blame with saddling me with Blackburn as a club, thinks Kean is a twat and should go so I'd listen to him, he actually watches them week in week out)

The trouble is there is no point in playing attractive flowing football if you can't stop shipping goals. On Saturday Blackburn only really started playing when they were 3-0 down and the game already lost. From what I've seen, they have some very good players but they have no confidence, no direction and no gameplan. Surely most of this must be the manager's fault?
