The world's dirtiest footballer, apparently. Does make some of the fellas down at Powerleague look like Mary Poppins though.

Interesting blog post. Behind the scenes at Opta. Embarrassing as it may be to admit it, I reckon I'd love working there.  :guilty:

Good post.. great article. So will you be getting your latest CODworld of war doom monger 17 act 4 to brush up on your computer game skills before the interview? Or is it a case of PL manager....? I had a bizarre conversation the other day, when talking to one of the fairer halfs work friends (whos a scum fan) I was talking about the mighty Tigers Jozy Altidore and he said "yeah, he's really good, increased in value ten fold and gets some really important goals" then I realised he was talking about his side in League Manager IIIVIIV or whatever!

Some lad (he came across as being about 14) on the Brighton forum was recommending that Brighton sign a long list of players a few weeks ago.

Someone pointed out that one of them had retired and three or four others were struggling to get a game for non-league sides. He'd blatantly just been throwing out names from which ever game he'd been playing.

People need to get a fucking grip between real life and their PS3.

Looks like Poyet has the Brighton job. Reasonably happy if this is right. He certainly seems to have a professional attitude towards the idea of management.

Always liked him as a player too, typical South American.  ;) The Argus isn't exactly the most trustworthy news source mind!

Confirmed.  :)

A good catch  - hope he does well for you, he was always an excellent and dignified player at Chelsea..

This puts things in perspective somewhat. Terribly, terribly sad.

Really sad and I can't see professional football clubs being the easiest environment in which to ask for help regarding depression or mental illness.  That said, if this sad event provokes some changes then that can only be  a good thing.

PS _ Poyet is a great signing for the Seaguls.. well done.

Quote
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: "A 36-year-old male suffered injuries described by the London Ambulance Service as possibly life-changing and was taken to an east London hospital for further assessment and treatment.

Concerning. Seems a strange quote for the LAS to make.

Yup - hope he gets well. A great example for the game Cuddicini - Just got on with the job and a loyal CFC servant for many years. Though at 36 if he's broken both wrists sounds like it could be game over, poor man.

Note how long it took to bring the matter to a close.  Funny that the hearing and subsequent touchline ban came after the Chelsea game and just prior to two games against Portsmouth and Everton... who'd have thunk it.
