I think moronic is the word, not iconic or ironic. How can you read the words "oh fuck" in someone's eyes?

  :agree:

This photo was the first one that I was aware of that was manipulated to produce a convincing image of something that didn't actually happen ("anatomically impossible" was the phrase at the time).

Rotate that by 90 degrees to get a similar logo, colourwise...

Sorry, badly explained there. Grace said it was anatomically impossible in an interview. The photographer said simply that Grace couldn't do the arabesque coz she wasn't supple enough, but he was into creating images of the impossible or some bollox.

Rage Against the Machine, sorry Budhist Monk protesting about Vietnam war

Thic Quang Duc

Thích Quảng Đức emerged from the car along with two other monks. One placed a cushion on the road while the second opened the trunk and took out a five-gallon gasoline can. As the marchers formed a circle around him, Thích Quảng Đức calmly seated himself in the traditional Buddhist meditative lotus position on the cushion.

A cushion? Just how did that conversation go? "...and don't forget the cushion, you know how cold tarmac irritates my piles".
I'm sure I'd want to be sat comfortably before setting myself ablaze.

National Geographic (June, 1985) 12-year-old Afghan girl - the famous photo of Steve McCurry), made them in a refugee camp on the Afghan-Pakistani border. Soviet helicopters destroyed the village of young refugees, all of her family died, and before reaching the camp, the girl has done a two-way in the mountains.

Full image of the cover here.

More details of Steve McCurry and also an update on the girl in the photograph.
