Right, after 4 hours sleep here we go for the paln

- this is limit cars, if anyone wants to drive then fair go

van 1: FBSF and space monkey. thats full at that

van 2: I suggest that big G, tlr, Oli, me and the resulting 5 bikes go in my big van. However I'm a inpatient type so I'm not being both taxi driver, packer and orgaanised at 7:30 in the morning... unless you live like miles and miles from S7 I'll have the bike(s) off you the night before, and preferably you drive to me in the morning... but i could be persuaded on that one... big G lives on the way, so thats different.

I have to be back at work and www.less until 17:00, you all have my mobile, txt me.

Glad they're letting you out for the day then!

I'll give you a ring re: dropping off the bikes, but will certainly do it on Saturday.

So, good day was had by all(ok maybe not Yossarian, more on that later) drops were done, table tops cleared and much speed was maintained on a very hot and dusty Cannock Chase(Britains top dogging spot!)
Poor Yoss twatted himself after landing a biggish step down and then was promptly rebounded off the bike and over a berm in a fine fashion, I was mid air over the table top and heard a collective groan/whince from the assembled crowd. The jump runs into a biggish tabletop(see below) The tree nearest the berm was his exit point. He was last seen limping back to his car after the good doctors examination had concluded that in his considered opinion he had grazed his hand.

The space monkey at the same spot managed to clear this table top by some 2 feet, not the actual top, the frigging tranny itself. More spectacular was his nose wheelie down it when he got a little squirrely.
Fatdoc achieved his nemesis the gap jump and didnt fall off, which is always a bonus for him! Big G got his mojo back.
Got to be Cwmcarn next!

Indeed, it was most certainly epic.
I'm sure that tabletop felt bigger than that as well...
Look out for the video footage from fatdoc at some stage in the near future, featuring an exclusive fbsf appearance  :-\
It's definitely tempting to get another big bike now, even though riding it all on the HT was actually pretty fun.

The hand just a second ago.

The drive home was not too dangerous, but rather painful.

An excellent day though.  Particular highlights were Oli's efforts on the drop that dropped me. On his hardtail.  Well done.

And space monkey's recovery from was was very nearly a nose-first special.

Also thanks to Fatdoc and FBSF for diagnosing my (as it turned out ) disastrously set-up rear shock.  When I get around to dragging the beast out of my boot I will have a check re the spring rate and the rest of the required info so I can get it properly tuned and therefore not suffer a similar mishap next time...

Youch.

A fun day for sure, even for XC jey boys like me. Some impressive riding by FBSF, Space Monkey and Oli.

Good effort by Fatdoc for sorting it all out.

Luckily nobody managed this....

If I hit my weekly deadlines  / tasklist early I'll get on the video editing, I saw it all last night... it could splice up to a fairly cool 4 mins of fun... and I have Yoss's crash on the camcorder..

Does anyone know how to edit / cover up / pixelate on imovie? there's a bit that youtube / vimeo are not gonna let me put on without!!

Broken fifth metacarpal...

Was having it redressed this morning, and the nurse thought it was still very swollen, so I went to hospital for an x-ray.

Might need a bit of wiring. Will find out tomorrow.

I was sure it was ok.  Quite surprised when I heard...

When it heals I intend to return to Cannock and do that drop properly.

I think I might invest in some fancy POC armour too!

That's a bit unlucky. I like your attitude towards crushing the thing next time...

Any video imminent fatdoc? Or is work a bit full on this week?

I'm in for my normal near dawn start in wharners Monday. Big G will be co ersed, he is the proud owner of a new full facer, so we need to get it damaged.

Confirmation to follow. But 95% I'll be at the jump spot by & a.m with G on Monday

That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it...

(I admit I do have a tendency to stop thinking just after completing any sort of task that I've had to syke up for.  That may've compounded my, ahem, technical problem.)
