had a little scare on the shunt yesterday  . Slipped whilst workin a route compressng the shunt between me and the rock so started to fall, grabbed the rope and now have 7 metres worth of rope burn that has melted my skin right through

After having a shitload of time off climbing to bring up my kids  and doing fuck all of any use to man or beast, I got back in the saddle and today fucked off to Longridge.

Just before I left the house, I saw on the longridge site the epitaph "where the strong come to get stronger and the weak get spanked".

I'll consider myself spanked.

Surely that is a YYFY? If you had spent the last decade doing no climbing and on your first trip to Longridge you ticked everything, would life have any meaning at all? What would be the point?

Get it Xrayed at least. When I fucked mine I thought it was just a sprain, and never got one. 2 months down the line it still looked like an old ladies ankel. I was massaging it one evening and it gave an almighty clunk and got better within a week. Seems I had dislocated something too, which would have been picked up with an X ray and ben manipulated back into place and would ahve recovered in half the time

Black beauty slipped on black ice and hit her nose on a tree today. The recovery bloke reckoned she'd be a write-off, although there wasn't really that much damage. Arsecakes.
