Use a sling and a couple of biners?

Shame you haven't got an iceaxe you can put on drivers seat - be a great visual deterrent.

Showing an ice axe is like brandishing a knife. You have to be prepared to go pretty balls deep to actually use it, and if not, bearing in mind that you don't know who you're squaring up to, you could be in a much bigger world of shit.

I agree which is where the squirt of de icer is the better option, unlikely to blind or cause long term effects plus the benefit of deniability allow use and its incapacitating effect will allow esacpe.

front door locks.

Bummer. Front door locks barrels aren't too bad to replace if the bodywork is OK, but it will mean you have a different key to open the door and start the van, unless you get the barrels cut to suite the key, which can be costly.

What a pain in the arse.  Thieving gets did my passenger side lock with a screwdriver without getting in.  I've not bothered to replace it as I've fitted central locking and an alarm for £80.  Might be worth a look Paul? Only problem with the alarm is that you have to take out a fuse when you sleep in the van to stop it going off!

I agree

Shit!

I've clearly lost my way regarding value based issues, and need to rethink my position on this.

114 Euro fitted and cut to the same key including fitting doesn't seem too bad from a main dealer...

Its pretty clear we're asleep in it when we are... full foils etc. Titanic esque window condensation with the hand trail. You get the picture.

A bit of classic Font YYFY followed by NNFN this week just gone...

Thought I'd bagged at 6c+ at Bois Rond according to the purple guide, then checked bleau.info and it's apparently only a 6b.

Then yesterday did Rhume Folle at Cuvier, which would have been a proper achievement for me at the mo, only to find out that if you use the slopey pocket thing on the left it's only 6b!

I think I'm going to stop checking bleau.info when I've done stuff...either that or look in advance to make sure there aren't any weird rules I need to keep from breaking.

NNFN!!

I successfully managed to throw myself off the rock-over at the top of GA three times on the trot, which is a new personal record.

Gutted, I was mentally willing you up this all day as I rested.

Looks like another reasonable weather week so you may get another few rounds before the final bell of the year...

On the plus side The fitness is still increasing. Getting to the jug is worth 8a on it's own, so to do it 3 times in a day is pleasing. I've re-worked the top and think my new sequence is slightly less powerful, so if it stay's dry I may get it next week. With luck.

Despite the guy telling me I'd come back to find one key will still do everything on my van I returned to be handed a new set of keys for the front doors. Needless to say after VW last took the p*ss (fixing the wrong CV joint and letting us get far enough away so they could deny everything) I wasn't too happy and they're now rectifying it for no cost. Just had to pop back from my week in Font to work for 1 day, as my employers decided not to let me have both the days off in lieu that I am owed in the same week.  :wall:

NNFN

Just found out from a thread on cocktalk that I'm a lower/midgrade climber, and this is  apparently due to not climbing at the EICA.

Quote
You may not feel you personally benefit from the differences but to pretend there aren't any is just being obtuse. Alien is a good smallish local wall catering very well for lower/mid grade climbers. Ratho is a huge training and climbing facility with no equals in the country churning out a large chunk of the current British Youth Team.

What a way to find out, I new I shouldn't have gone over to the dark side

some c*ntish climber helped himself to my rear fog light in the buoux car park last night. Obviously they thought they read "VW Spares - take your pick"...

I think its a new low a climber stealing from another climbers van. Maybe I'm being negative but there were a lot of other t4's in the carpark. Duct tape it is!

That really is a c*nt trick. I reckon that at least this continuous "relatively" low level misfortune is keeping the bad luck levels from reaching a critical point.

sigh, i drove to the dolomites all alone to climb my nemesis at sella pass. got there all psyched, sure about success. never felt like that before.
then i got snowed, i badly sliced a finger and drove 5 hours back home.
NNFN.
i'd go back and do it all again tho.
