The only reason that I can see for noticing those is Aussie beer is having an effect on your masculinity in a manner which Sloper would understand in his private school educated way only too well...

Whilst I am somewhat dismayed at Dave's lack of interest in the blatent raisin smuggling, I've gotta take issue with the beer statement. Its alot better here these days compared to the pints of warm piss I used to get served in England. Imho of course. ;)

Im sorry mate but Ive gotta disagree - give me a pint of Jennings over the watery tasteless shite they serve here any day of the week. There are the exceptions, coopers and little creatures being a couple that spring to mind.

No, you wouldn't catch me ordering a schooner of VB. Unless of course you're in some hic pub in Nowra and the though of asking for a bottle of Corona conjours up thoughts of all sorts of scary events  ;)

I tried that on a mate's recommendation. I crazily expected it to be a Bitter in the UK sense, not a Lager that is slightly bitter.

It was OK though, better than a lot of the mildly flavoured fizzy water laced with a bit of alcohol (I can't really call it beer) I tried over there.

Is this going a bit OT, and worth a thread of it's own?

Ethan, did you scan those from a book? I think it was the first climbing related book I ever bought. Other than 'Learn Rock Climbing In A Weekend' perhaps. All that taught me was what Lionel Blair would look like if he started climbing.

Catherine the great. Heard a story that a few years back she soloed an E1 at fair head. Onsight, in the rain, in runners.
