Wrap up warm folks. It's a windy one. Skies are clear, if anything is wet then it won't be for long.

The odd hold was damp, but mostly dry. Moist and still air when we left at 4, but fogginess aside I'm sure it'll be fine tomorrow.

Should have gone high, Andy! Sypeland was sat pleasantly above a valley inversion today and was in pretty decent nick (the stuff that wasn't an inch deep in lichen that is!)

All good today. No mist, medium wind so chilly. Wellys mandatory for the walk in (v.muddy) and the odd deep pocket damp but otherwise all fine and Dandy.

No. :( stupidly close. Elevation to pocket ok. Just keep going to left or right FFS.

Ah, that's the final stage- the "terrible hand/eye co-ordination" stage. You'll hit it soon...

Who would have thought you could do The Keel twice without actually doing The Keel?

Yup, that's how I do it.. Need to get the left toe on first (pumped out in first one) and RH just popped on second before I could match the hand.. Sigh...

Ah, I don't bother with the toe on first, I just catch it, then match it (and on one occasion I therefore dispatched it)...

So near.... and so familiar. I remember my own similar struggles - I dropped the finish after matching the pocket on a few occasions too. I vaguely recall undignified prow-humping to match and dragging myself up to get the toe on before a horribly tenuous feeling lunge for higher holds. That'll teach me for being a gangle-fest.

Great nic today. There's a bank of cloud 1/2 mile to the south but the cliff is now in the weak sunlight. Primo. Calog looks like its well in the fog still.. Might clear in an hour or two there as the cloud is being blown south.

Ps. Doubt there'll be any cigars today, I'm climbing shit...

Get on something different but achievable for 20 mins. Then rest for 20. Then crush it. We'll have none of that negative stuff here.

Cheers for the psyche Andy..
I gave that a try, tried to warm through the aches and power through some problems on the usual circuit.. but its just one of those days when its not working.... Whole body is a creaking complaining lump of turd today :) a salient lesson for me in recovery time etc.. My right shoulder is really complaining - and while I've overlap repeated the moves (badly) - I can't to the final pull from the pocket.. Dont think ive pulled anything just used it hard on Monday.. Rest until Friday now..

Conditions are great though, and from the cafe it looks like Calog is coming out of the mist...
