I see yr.no is saying "fresh breeze" too, where metoffice is forecasting 30-40 mph gusts!

Anyone been up in last few days? I'll obviously go and have a look as I suspect it will be fine but worth asking!

I was wondering if there'd have been any drifts under Pistol Whip to flatten the landing for a snowball ascent!

Having been out climbing yesterday - trust me - don't go anywhere that isnt sheltered until that wind is long gone... (sunday?)...

The problem with Pistol Whip is that it faces south, so there won't be any snow banked up underneath it. In 2013 we moved a load from a nearby hollow and packed it into the trench. It was a lot of work!

I'd be interested to know how Jess's Roof etc are doing. If someone goes up could they also have a look around the back at those long forgotten routes like All Our Yesterdays. They face east so there's a slim chance there might be a drift there.

The eternal problem; somewhere sheltered is likely to be covered in snow runoff, no? Suggestions welcome!

It's absolutely bitter out there today, and not looking much better tomorrow!

Cheers :)

The cold I can deal with as long as theres some dry rock to go at. It can't be any colder than the Depot last night. Absolutely outrageous!

It's a commonly known fact that it has never rained at Earl.

I've never been. Need to pull my finger out, it looks amazing.

You really need to wait for a properly wet day to get the most out of it.

Getting very misty in Wetherby. I reckon drizzle is on the way in about an hour or so

It was absolutely gopping in the mist. I did manage to climb a route I hadn't done before (John's scatty cave, highly recommended) but absolutely everything was wet. Always worth a punt though!
