Actually. Cameron comes out quite well in this.

(I assume the woman is a fucking hospital administrator, rather than a doctor or a nurse, or someone charged with making people better, or a Prime Minister or Secretary of State or something charged with finding the money/or the will to make it happen?)

Caught this last night...

Sri Lanka killing fields

Utter cunts.

I would not recommend watching the programme if you are in anyway squeemish or don't like seeing injured people being bombed, systematic abuse or execution of people with their hands bound. Sickening.

1. There was some of the grant money left over in the pot.

2. If they didn't spend it, they'd have to pay it back.

3. If they paid it back, then those who disburse the funds would think they'd overbid.

4. So would adjust next year's budget accordingly.

Thats the fucking retarded mentality at work at present "Oh we've got to spend some money, what can we buy"

Ridiculous suggestions so far have included...

  • Second monitors for those who want them
  • Wireless routers for one of the floors (as far as I can tell a wireless network already exists throughout the building!)
  • Desktop scanners, despite the existence of two "industrial" networked photocopiers that have scanning/emailing functionality.
...and the biggest ill thought out one so far...
  • iPads for saving on paper in meetings! (As Jasper pointed out, £395 buys a LOT of paper & pens).  There are already several laptops for use with projectors that work perfectly fine.

Utterly bonkers

Some horrific stories in the comments too. Nothing surprises about the good ol USA any more.

It's already effectively legal in Colorado and California where anyone apparently can get a prescription for medical weed. "Oh Doctor I've got this back pain - Here you go sir, go and get stoned" is pretty much all you have to do.

Was in Boulder 2 weeks ago and it's amazing how many dispensaries there are - lots of people I know have their 'scripts. You used to know one of these people very well ;-)

Arfage!

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/glastonbury/8596024/Glastonbury-Festival-2011-live.html

Quote
Violent scenes broke out in the crowd at U2's long-awaited Glastonbury debut tonight as a protest against the Irish band's tax status was foiled by security guards.

As Bono and his bandmates took to the Pyramid Stage, activists from direct action group Art Uncut inflated a 20ft balloon emblazoned with the message "U Pay Your Tax 2".

But as the campaigners tried to release it over the 50,000-strong crowd, a team of 10 burly security guards wrestled them to the ground before deflating the balloon and taking it away.

Yeah. Don't dare let anyone suggest people pay their tax, eh, Mister Eavis?

Twat.
