Solution sizing

Boring question but does anyone know how solutions compare to Scarpa VS R's. I tried the bananafingers website but their shoe size calculator thingy doesn't seem to be working. I wear 40.5 in scarpa. Cheers

https://sizesquirrel.com/ is great for this sort of thing. It suggests 39.5 for Solutions.

Generally speaking 2-2.5 sizes smaller than street tends to work best in my experience.

Solutions are a fair bit narrower than Instincts though, just FYI.

Back when I was also climbing in Solutions, I used to wear them one size smaller than various Scarpas, that is around two sizes smaller than my regular shoes (40,5/41,5/42,5).
It still depends on how well it fits your feet though, but maybe it serves as a rough guidance.

I wear uk7.5 in instinct laces and uk6.5 in solutions if that helps!

My street shoe size is sometimes 8.5, sometimes 9 UK. EU 43.

Solutions for years I always used to go EU 39.5. However - they have changed their sizing in recent redesign. I think now EU 40 or even 40.5 would be better for me.

I do have odd extremely arched feet however that are basically the same shape as a Solution which means the fit can be closer!
