I must confess to having never heard of them until they released Absolute Elsewhere and the accompanying hype. Going through their back catalogue, Hidden History is good but a bit flat for me, and sounds similar to most modern death metal which just doesn't do it for me. But still worth a listen. I actually quite like their old demos especially 'Astral Spells' which has a rawer and doomy sound.
I agree that Absolute Elsewhere had the potential to be a bit cheesy but in my opinion they got it just right

Headliners and top support line up would have made an amazing gig some time in the ‘80’s

I wonder if all the solo artists listed is pointing to some sort of band aid effort?

Saw Napalm Death last night. Great fun. Bags of energy and punk attitude - can see how well grindcore is derived naturally from punk.

But this one is for you lot who might want something more accessible. Crowbar were the main support act. Not heard much of them before and they were pretty cool - groovy bluesy doomy sludge. This track in particular is apparently a live favourite as it sounded bloody epic:
