Staying within the VAG family, but something a little swifter.

This is all dependant on selling he Audi first though....

The Audi looks like an ace climbing car. Unfortunately the insurance doesn't agree with me.

Thats my car (Seat Leon), but with a boot, some funky rims and a stick on wing! Hope it's faster than mine. I'd much prefer your Audi!

There you go  http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/407462.htm

seems a daft move to me Golt, less economy and an uglier car IMO
I'd stick with the Audi but then again I might be slightly biased

Pretty much. Its a V5 with 170bhp standard but this has been tuned slightly. The Audi has been great but the mileage is creeping up and I no longer need the economy of diesel as I only drive 4 miles to work instead of 50 (As soon as its warmer I'm riding the bike to work)

You are biased!!  ;)

I have proper enjoyed the Audi, but it is time to change. I actually really like the looks of the Toledo, its practically a Bora but the spec on it is unreal. It has every extra you could think of and the petrol grunt I have lusted after.

The Audi looks like an ace climbing car. Unfortunately the insurance doesn't agree with me.

Group 11 if you wanna know. Not to bad but certainly not cheap.

Churchill gave me a price of ~£900, which seemed reasonable for a 1.9tdi estate, but sadly doesn't mean I can justify it.

surely torque = grunt and there's very little between the two when it comes to torque?

but it sounds like you're in need of a change so why not? :)

Fuck churchill off, you are paying for all them stupid adverts on tv.
For all things like this I use http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/ website for advice. I think the main car insurance search one to use is moneysupermarket. I pointed this out to dense who's premium went from around £400 down to around £150 with a 5 min search on my computer. Thats about £50 a minute, good work if you can get it   ;)

I'm fed up of running out of revs at 4000rpm, and kicking crap out the back of the car! I loved the economy of the Audi, it was grand when I needed it, but I want something new. This has 170bhp standard and has had a full S/S exhaust fitted all ready so with a little tinkering I can have near or just over  200bhp. Then I will be a happy bunny!

I guess I'm trying to satisfy the speed freak inside, but the rest of the car is awesome. Leather and alcantara everywhere, elecrtric gadgets galore etc etc

:) you're going to be much happier with a petrol then - i love ow revving torquey diesels but i do still miss my old stroker which gave peak torque at 10,500 so understand your yearning.

Bubba; Did you get a message I sent you about riding at Wharncliffe this week, or did I screw up the ludicrously simple task of sending the message?

Slightly off topic I admit, but I just have to sat I have grown to love my Audi A4 Avant.  2.0T FSI petrol so it's pacey enough (but slow compared to the Scooby  :'( ) but most practical.
Golt, it sounds like you've decided already, so are you:
1.  Reneging on your decision and want backup  or
2.  Boasting

The car is getting bought tomorrow morning at 11am. I'm slightly sad to see it go, but I'm picking the new one up on Monday and I'm fairly sure I'll forget about the Audi quick enough!!!

what jim doesn't know is that he pointed me to moneysavingexpert where my premium went from £530 to £150 with an internet company, which i don't want to insure my car with. a lot of other quotes came back around £220, i then put my details with churchill ont net, again this came back with £220, which i bought. caveat: ringing them takes the cost up ie get quote off net then ring them.
