Dylan has a huge vocal talent, he gets more character into that flat nasal whine than any other pitch perfect 'incredible voice' on the planet.
Hmmmm....i think we'll just have to disagree on this point :)

Any Gran Turismo - all shite, just nice light effects
No way jose - the GT series is amazing, especially with a wheel/pedals. It's about the only reason i'd buy a PS3...well, and the new Ratchet and Clank of course.

For his services to literature I have to nominate Martin Amis - actually I will recommend London Fields to anyone but the book he wrote after that was the biggest pile of trash known to man and I have no doubt that he didn't improve any on subsequent attempts.

However, a much more deserving band for spanking with the birch of overrated crapness is The White Stripes. I don't think there's ever been a bigger case of Emporer's New Clothes than this pair of talentless chancers. Some out of tune guitar playing that sounds like Mark & Lard taking the piss backed by "drumming" so poor my 10 month old son does a better job when banging a wooden spoon against his high chair tray all topped off with "quirky" lyrics screamed over the "minimalist" shit to create a cacophony of utter wankness. The NME love them of course. Please fuck off.  :spank:

Just to go back to these cunts, I just heard their latest offering on the radio. I was thinking "what's this fucking shite?" and then was informed it was The White Stripes. So no surprises then.

I'm convinced that nobody actually likes them (a couple of their early tunes were ok but then they went rapidly downhill) and that when these muso twats are listening to them they're actually thinking "this is fucking awful but everyone thinks they're so cool so I can't give them a bad review" and this just filters down.

Put it this way, I don't know anyone who likes them as my mates are honest about what music they like and don't follow what's "in".

Am I milking it? Probably. Good.

Another one occured to me the other day; AC/DC. 5 generic guitar chords, a whiny voice and a crappy chorus. Otherwise all the songs are interchangeable. I'm sure these words are blasphemy to some folk, but they have always bored the hell out of me.

Oh yes, and a school uniform. Crazy.

you can't knock "black in black", but i've never listed to any other tunes, i can well imagine its a one trick pony ting.

I don't think AC/DC have, or ever will be, a serious band and one can only be disappointed with them if they are regarded as such.  I don't think any one regards their work as 'masterpieces', however they are entertaining and easygoing, and their heritage can be seen in more modern aussie bands like the datsuns, and wolfmother.

Black in Black? Is that off the Black Album?

"When asked how much blacker this album can be, the answer would be "it can't""

:agree: More tedious, over rated pantomime shite (see also my comments about Queen). And those lyrical puns - straight out of a Viz cartoon, except not even slightly ironic. Spare me, my sides have split. And I actually like heavy guitar music (not that AC/DC are in any real sense a powerful sounding band), but I have always specifically hated this bunch of comical idiots. In fact I'd forgotten how much I dislike this band until I read your post.

Madonna- Utter pish.  And she's not even fit, so why publish shitty pr0no books?!?!
Orbison- I drove all night to get away from it.  Utter waffle.
That dude that does the "modern" piano stuff- sounds like someone having a seizure on the keyboard.  Urgh
Eastenders.

Whilst we're on AC/DC how about Motorhead?

One great album; No Sleep 'til Hammersmith and that's about it....

Hey Fallingdown, I saw Motorhead last year and if I could still do that at 60 I'd pack in the drink, the drugs and the fags! Still this year he toured with alice cooper and joan jett (notice no capitals), the twat! No I didn't go.

Alice Cooper's Hey Stoopid was OK, probably the input from Slash/Satch/SyVy.
Motorhead had a few good tunes, and lots of crap.  But I wouldn't say they were mega popular.
Cradle of Filth- utter wank, crap Black metal and only popular due to their nationality.

GCW. Maybe if Lemmy wanted to be popular he would have got rid of the warts and spent the '80s wearing pink spandex. Sadly I started climbing because of pictures of hard drinking metal heads wearing pink spandex (and feathers as earrings). Thankfully the pink spandex pants have been locked away since 1990... Shit I might have to try them on.

Don't get me wrong, I like Motorhead- Bomber, Motorhead, Killed by Death, Overkill etc etc
But then they brought out Orgasmatron.  Oh, dear.
I've seen them live 4 times, my ears haven't been the same since.

Here's one:  Hugely over-rated, bigged up and uber-popular but in reality it's utter wank......

Yeah: UK Climbing

I think the orig line-up Mötörhead are great.  Bonn Scott era AC/DC was just fine too.  I'm not sure if I'd call either (as they now stand) over-rated, more long-in-the-tooth.

Highway to Hell & Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap and Powerage are excellent recordings.

Alice Cooper, Lovin' it to Death LP is the one to own, great freak/psyche rock.

Gershwins' Rhapsody in Blue.

What a repulsive work.
