Paroxysm Low
June 11, 2024, 11:10:58 pm
I was trying to work out where this starts the other day and couldn't figure out which holds to use to pull on.

Does anyone know if it's the polished edges (footholds on the traverses) or just to the left of those (rh sidepull and lh on one of the poor edges)?

Assuming that you’re referring to Woodwell?

I was starting down and right, sat right in the corner of where Angel Deelite starts on a LH edge and RH Gaston if I remember rightly. Not convinced that’s the original version though. Still made it 7C+ though as it’s quite a few moves to then set up for Paroxysm.

original start I believe was in compression in the pit on some poor edges and involves 1 big slap up to the start of parox. Harder than any of the moves on the parox by a long way.

From an old topo: "Paroxysm Low (7C+/V10) Start in the pit with your
feet on the back and make a hard move into the rail."

Thanks both - sounds like the original started in the pit to the left so I'll have a go at that next time! :)
