80s retro film trilogy flava

in stark contrast to fingers' religion thread, some lowbrow fun...

gonna have a vid night this weekend, trying to come up with the 3 definitive 80s trilogy. For what it's worth, here's my punt:

Ferris Beuller's Day Off
Back to the Future
Gremlins

interested to hear everyone else's - bring it on muthaz (except you young'uns who won't remember the 80s...)

word. might ditch BTTF in favour of Ghostbusters.

random questions coming off the back of this one...

Has Tom Cruise ever died in a film?

more importantly, has Steve Guttenberg ever been in a good film?

Well he might die in Collatoral (haven't seen it though).

What? You mean you don't like 3 men and a baby!

Oh, and Princess Bride is one of the best films of all time!

SPOILER ALERT

he does. That's what prompted the query - had a mate who said that you can't kill Tom Cruise in a film, and if you do it'll only ever be a maximum 7/10!

as for my man Guttenbizzle, reckon Caccoon is about as good as it gets...

Obi-Wan is lost...

Risky Business, a young Cruise and (even better) a young
De Mornay...

Weird Science. Similar story, also as classic.

Most things off this list pre 1989... http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000455/

John Candy Classic Triple Bill:
Uncle Buck,
Planes, Trains etc
The Great Outdoors

For some classic '80's weirdness check the Alex Cox directed 'Repo Man'. Emilio Estevez's finest hour.

Mind you, you can't beat a bit of Bueller...
