Dissolution Block
August 14, 2004, 10:55:51 am
Trying to get the definitive sketch on this block, without referring to the rockfax guide which I don't think is correct. Practically every eliminate and sit start has been climbed, but which are the true lines? This is where I'm up to at the moment:

From right to left:

Right arete from standing, 6c ish and awkward.

Left again, Dissolution, small edges to mantle - did the original have a sit start? 7a+

Left again, Raw Power, 7b/7b+ from sit start on a flakey crack, heel jam, crimps, move slightly left to mantle. The original RP in the book is just the mantle, but not convinced this is right.

Left again, 7c+, right hand in shallow pocket, rib thing and hanging groove/slab (Mike Lea)

Left arete from standing, 4+/5

Any help would be appreciated.

Many thanks.

Nige has done Dissolution so will know the score, 7a+ sounds a bit harsh but I've not given it much of a go really. Between Dis' and RP is a V3ish prob involving a flake undercut thing.

this ones called random days i think.
I'd say 7b for the sit start to the mantle in the middle. Nige knows the score with this place.
