Maybe everything's been said...

I was thinking the other day that in the future all threads would consist of a post followed by a link from Slackers to a previous thread covering the topic. The only active thread would be significant repeats...

Maybe people have been told to 'go and google that' so many times, that that's exactly what they've done.

Obviously, I'm joking. UKB out of all the minority interest forums I frequent seems to be doing fine. Most others seem to be completely disfuncyional and consist of 10 midddle-aged/old men who hate eachother with a vehemence not seen since the Spanish inquisition.

*I wrote a lot more, then deleted it as it didn't make any sense, if you'd been drinking wine with me on my balcony all afternoon, we'd've understood eachother perfectly.

We don't even have that to look forward to.  In a few years Ondra and perhaps one or two select others will be so far ahead of the pack that no ascents will be perceived as significant in comparison.

The forum will soldier on for a few years as a repository for threads entitled "of local interest only" and "formerly big repeats but by people you occasionally get to nod in passing to" but will evanesce unloved and noticed.... it's the entropic heat-death of UKB.... panic on the streets of S8!

When the cohort of international posters from the periphery outside of Yorkshire are quiet then UKB can feel too Sheffield-centric. But looking on the bright side it could be far worse. It could be too Llanberis-centric.

Are you two some sort of Llandudno comedy club double act from the 1950s?

Personally I thought that UK bouldering died when grown men decided it was acceptable to start giving themselves animal names.

I saw Shark at the Tor today (well popped over after messing around in Blackwell Dale to catch up and eat my lunch) and his first words were "here comes the forum hater" ;)

Some are born with animal names and some have animal names thrust upon them

Well UKB seems to be banned in China, so you/we are doing something right. Mind you it just be because of all the fucking swearing  ;)

According to http://www.blockedinchina.net/?siteurl=ukbouldering.com as well

But just using time-outs as a measure, I'd say ukbouldering is banned in France as well, mind you.
