most people who filled up either did it because they always fill their cars up every week(me included),they had just been paid and always fill up on payday or they had heard about the possibility of a strike so filled up to be safe rather than because the govt said so.hardly any of my local(west yorks) filling stations have seemed full and the only dry pumps ive seen is shell vpower and thats nothing new.

do you have evidence that he isn't?tanker drivers by law have to stick to speed limits so how can they go faster than that?they are limited to hours by working time directives on their tacho's so they cant do more than that and the so called £9000 a year pay cut is a figure being banded about with no proof.many people have took pay cuts over the last year or two,its called being in a recession,thats what can happen.most people filling their cars up in the last few days will be monthly paid people who always fill their cars up at this time,others will be filling up cars ready for weekend trips and others ready for the bank holiday weekend where everywhere is busy anyway.this whole thing has been blown up.cameron gets slaughtered for suggesting filling up but if he hadnt said anything he would have been slated for not advising people that petrol could become scarce-no win situation
