Editing Software for shit pc
December 28, 2011, 06:38:03 pm
My Adobe Premiere wants to be activated again but i can only do it over the phone and need product IDs etc.. which i don't have. So i thought i might just cut my losses and download some new software off the pirate bay. Problem is my comp is a bit of an anitique so can't really get something like Premiere CS5. Can anyone recommend some software for a low spec machine? I've got AMD athlon 64 processor and 2.21 Ghz, 512 MB of RAM. Cheers for any help geeky types.

Ram is a pretty cheap upgrade, if it's an option on your machine. Could be a worthy investment and open up more software options.

 :agree:

Don't know why I didn't mention this when you were asking earlier. Get a RAM upgrade and while you're at it get a solid state hard drive fitted as an extra hard drive. This'll give you enough processing power and storage space, solid state are the way to go for hard drives - got one fitted on my laptop and its miles quicker and less power hungry than a standard drive. The RAM and drive shouldn't cost very much and it'll allow you lots more options with editing software. Google for prices but there's a couple of places in 'dudno that'll do it for you.
The only thing then is which OS you're running - not sure which OS you need to be running for CS4 onwards, maybe Vista/7?
