Quickdraw deals???
March 21, 2011, 11:05:10 am
Does anyone know of any inexpensive quickdraw deals out there? I need to replace a few and I didn't realise how expensive they have got these days. I trawled through the well known web suppliers (Rock and Run, V12 etc.) but have yet to find anything tempting enough for my budget. Either solid or wiregate will be fine.

Thanks in advance. A

I thought some of the sets on offer at Outside Winter Sale were reasonable given the price of individual draws (in particular the Xenon packs of five), but sounds as though these have already been checked out, not really been looking at much else of late.

Serpico's win on price though.

btw: as an aside how do you hide a url behind some short text? I can't see how to do it.

Quote one of the replies which does this and you'll see : replace the first closing ] with = and move ']' to after the address. Type your comment in between that and the final brackets.

Instead of just copying & pasting in the URL you need to use some BBcode to mark-up the text, in this instance the following...

Code: [Select]
I got [url=http://www.fieldandtrek.com/dmm-pro-wire-qd-tradpac10-788091]some of these recently[/url].

Would appear as...

I got some of these recently.

That's what I'm talking about (in terms of cost)....although, I think a little higher quality would be useful. I revisited Rock and Run and found these. Thanks

The DMM PRO WIRE QD TRADPAC for £40 is pretty good as well.

I like the pro wires, light with a quality feel and not much more than bargin basement prices.  If you don't want so many Needlesports have them in at 8.50 - 9.50 depending on sling length,

Higher quality  both gates open and they haven't snapped yet, what more do you need?

Double gated karabiner anyone?

(I was actually looking for a cartoon I saw ages ago of a truly useless double gated karabiner, and was quite surprised that such things do exist even if they're not designed for use in climbing).

Was trying to find the Macgyver scene where he uses dog leashes as quickdraws but couldnt, but here's a little demo of what to do incase a knife wheeling abseiling murder pays you a visit enroute. Ah they dont make like that anymore

I got some of these http://www.decathlon.co.uk/EN/orbit-polished-quickdraw-33855084/ to supplement my Petzl spirits. To be honest I've not noticed much difference.
