What problem is this at the Roaches?
February 25, 2011, 12:51:11 pm
After a bit of help figuring out what exactly it is that I climbed at Doxey's the other week.

Please try and ignore my punter status, disco leg and the fact that I was utterly unable to repeat if for the camera! The vid gives the general idea

From where I came off in the vid, I went with the right hand, then left foot up then direct to the top. I was attempting to go as direct as i could.

Is it Pocket LH, RH, Archway or some unholy bastardisation of the 3?!

I'm assuming you've looked in pd:b? It looks like Problem 14, page 279, 6C.

I thought is might have been problem 13 from pdb, hence the request for clarity.

Oh my word... aren't we useless? I suggest a book which the OP has already looked through, Slackers suggests a website which (from the names given by the OP) has already been checked.

And in response to the original question, it's got to be Pocket RH. The description " From the left end of the arch, head up and left via a pocket" sums up pretty much exactly what you were doing in the vid.

Cheers. Looks like we have a consensus Drew, so it was worth it.

An excellent problem regardless of the name. I had a great time working it even though it didn't look at all possible for me when I first looked at it.

I'll register on peakbouldering.info and stick a photo and some of my dodgy beta up later on.
