suits on a plane
September 15, 2010, 07:49:56 pm
there's some fly gents on here. off to a wedding in south of france next week and need to take my fly-ass suit ideally. does anyone have any tips for how to pack a suit for air travel without fucking it up? it's O'Ryanrobbingcuntair so a separate suitbag isn't an option. I'm considering travelling in it. I would look fly like a falcon (suit+T-Shirt+Nike 6.0s = you do the math). Ta.

I was hoping this was going to be a thread about a low-budget sequel to Snakes on a Plane. Maybe with Denzel Washington this time?

you're thinking of 'corncrakes on a plane'.

i'm pursuing that line, but with no joy at the moment. they tend to fly uncrumpled ok with a decent case?

I'd fully endorse your "wear it on" approach.

I had to go to Frankfurt on bidnezz last year for a day-long session but travelled out t'day before.

Didn't want to pack / queue for hold luggage to I just rocked my suit with a t-shirt and trainers and chucked a shirt/tie/smart shoes in a small rucksack I took on as hand luggage. All good.

part of the problem is we're going for a week, we've got the max baggage allowance, and we're taking a baby and all his shit with us. my section of the bag will be pretty 'fast and light'.

Pack it - then just make sure you hang it up when you arrive. Mine has always been fine when its been in a case (though it depends on how crease friendly your suit is I guess..)...

When we flew down to Brum for a wedding, I just caried the jacket with hand luggage. Draped over arm when walking about, or wearing it. Fold it carefully and and stash it on top of hand luggage during flight. Or some flights have a small cupboard up front for stashing coats etc. Although RA would probably charge for that.

Can you not hang it out in the warm mediterranean air for very long? I reckon it'd be ok if well hung for a night surely?

Want to borrow a suit bag?  Put suit in bag, put bag in holdall, hang up for an hour at t'other end, job done.  Best off done by the missus in my experience.  You have my number I believe .....

Borrowed tlr's swanky suitbag which worked a treat in the end. Not planning on flying anywhere with a suit for a while.

due to multitasking/illiteracy I was expecting this thread to include amusing anecdotes about sluts on a plane
